“Note” The Canon 50mm lens is not vintage, but I threw it in there to compare it
to the vintage lens.

Great video and content, I really liked watching it.

Amanda,

I don't know much about the FCPX/ Red Raw workflow, but I think Guillaume in the video above appeared to do a good job of explaining it.

The majority of people in this world are biased to the point they are unable to function properly. It's the main course behind all conflicts everywhere. People cannot, at all, look at facts or use unbiased rational reasoning. Even scientists who learn how to bypass those human flaws in their own research can pose extreme bias in areas outside of that research.

And after the pandemic hit and I've seen how people discuss around it, which is a scientific topic, it's clear that I can conclude most people to be idiots. Finding people who try really hard to be unbiased, every time, at any moment, is like finding a unicorn. It's not something people learn in school, no one is given those tools in life to view things with a rational eye. Everyone instead learns to value their own opinion as truth.

And I absolutely hate that this world is stuck in the stone ages of rational thought.

I would like all schools to rather skip all current curriculums and primarily focus on rational thought, training students to view everything in life unbiased. It's getting epistemic responsibility to the max and would fix a lot of problems in the world today.

Christoffer,
Wow. Well said.
The problem is not just bias. There is the also the prevalent problem that biased people (with their inability to judge truth from fiction) become grist for those that would happily lead them (with purposeful untruths and practiced encitement) astray. The bias deepens with each cycle of lies and reaction.
Here, it remains to be seen whether a change of presidency can rebuild our society. It's pretty screwed up at present.
I hope it is better in Sweden.
Mark

Mini Lf, Alexa Plus, Red Dragon and Komodo - Can you tell which one is which?

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good week thusfar. So this was my 3rd professional shoot with the Komodo. I had a 2nd one for the wides, but on this particular, I got most of the shots myself on my Stormtrooper A-Cam.

I'm trying to post this with an HLG/HDR DCI 4K file on Vimeo and Youtube. If anyone can confirm that the blacks and colors are correct and not a grey/elevated gamma that I'm getting on one of my displays, that would be very helpful to me, as I need to deliver the final to show at an upcoming festival. Thanks in advance.

Danny,

Thanks for posting your video here. Unfortunately I don't have a HLG HDR monitor/TV to actually be able to verify that your settings are correct. But on my computer monitor the blacks are black and there is a lot of color to the image.

Spoiler Alert!! for those who haven't watched the Mini Lf, Alexa Plus, Red Dragon and Komodo comparison

I personally liked the initial Arri Alexa LF image the best but I thought the skintones looked a tid bit yellow

I thought the Red Komodo image looked overall too warm.

I thought the grade they used was a little too harsh. So if you fix the yellow in the Alexa LF image and slightly cooled and corrected the Komodo image they would look more closely to the Alexa LF image.

Thanks for the feedback Rand!

You're welcome Danny! Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Here's a video I got from an Instagram page that will probably never be posted anywhere else. It was shot with the Komodo. Forgive the low quality, it came from Instagram.
