CRLS Lightbridge Test with RED KOMODO

"This is a series of tests using the CRLS Lightbridge reflectors and the Red Komodo.
In this video I'm using two fixtures: the Aputure 300D II and BB&S Compact Beamlight. The attachments for the 300D II are the 36 degree spotlight and Fresnel 2X.
The Fresnel 2X has the most power, the Spotlight has the most control, and the Compact Beamlight is the least cumbersome and easiest to maneuver.

The Komodo settings were Prores 422 LQ in various modes of 6K, 4K, and 2K."

For me it was the:


1) Z-Cam
2) Sony FX6
3) Sony FX3
4) Red Komodo
5) BMPCC 6K Pro

In the end the test means little, as they were just using factory LUTs. Any one of these cameras could likely look much better with a real color grade. But nonetheless, entertaining.

Yeah,

I didn't really watch all of part 2 after the cameras were revealed. However I think if all of the footage had been brought into ACEScct or even the newer Davinci Wide Gamut Color Managed Workflows they would have "Standardized" the initial images better. I think the individuals transformational Luts for the different manufacturers could have contributed more to the difference amongst the cameras more than anything.
