I wanted to share this on REDUSER before anyone shares it for me as the video just went live. I will be adding to this thread shortly and editing this post with more info.

Shot on RED Komodo 6K onboard an ALTA 8 Drone

17:9 R3D MQ 40fps (24fps project base)
800 ISO f1.5-5.6
TOKINA VISTA PRIMES 35mm & 85mm
TOKINA IRND
firmware v1.1.0rc3

The RED Komodo was designed for special use applications such as gimbals, drone, crane, etc. last week I flew my Komodo for the first time with my buddy Mike Gentilini Jr. of VidMuze Cinema on his Freefly Systems Alta 8 Drone. It was fun to DP this shoot, and I look forward to shooting something more legit with this in the future.

Instead of just shooting a bunch of high and wide aerials Mike and I decided to shoot something with more parallax. We originally intended only aerials but decided to incorporate an actress into the shoot which called for getting shots on the ground with Mike operating the MOVI pro. I want to thank Andrea Laing for being our on screen talent for this camera test. Although a very simple idea, we were able to capture several "Scenes" with different lighting scenarios. We shot for just over 2 hours and this is what I edited together. My hope is to show you how Komodo handles several natural lighting scenarios over magic hour and into dusk.

I will be sharing some BTS from this too for those interested.

Although the footage looked great straight out of camera, I decided to color balance and simple grade this footage. I will have a 2nd video showing the straight out of camera , RWG/L3g10 , and graded images.

Tim, first thing first: thanks for taking the time to shoot and edit this!
Thanks to Phil and a few fellow Redusers, we know how good are the Tokina Vistas, but damn! What a great combo with the Komodo!
Hands down the best Komodo footage I’ve seen so far.
If someone wants to complain about something related to this camera, do it but I will definitely get one!

This looks great, my favorite Komodo footage yet! And of course your usage here also demonstrates the success of Komodo for the purpose for which it was designed. Thanks, Tim!

Dope! Thanks for sharing Tim and would love to see the BTS footage to geek out on your rigs.

Nice work Tim, look great! Thanks for taking the time to make this.
It’s the perfect test to me, massive dynamic range, Clean lenses and talent. 👍

Would love to have a play with some R3D’s at some stage of you’re happy to share some.

Lovely !
And I don't know if it's because of the music or what but the scenery reminds me so much of Red Dead Redemption 2 (which is a video game very dear to my heart so you really struck a cord here).

Really cool ! Congrats

Very nice! Love the grade on this. Skintones looking real good.

Loving this Tim!!!
Awesome in every aspect!

Looks really nice. Thanks for taking 5 minutes to shoot this video ;) - Really nice footage. Really well done.. and OH :YEA..... that Komodo skin tone! Hell yes!

any chance on getting some R3D grabs from this video?

put together this video using the Sunset Field footage from my Komodo showing IPP2 for the new people coming to RED. There has been quite a bit of conversation on what "straight out of camera" means and how we can have so many variations on that "look"
