  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED in Sweden

As long as you stick to Swedish Lauri ;) No, just kidding.. It would be cool to meet ALL norweigan, danish, finnish people aswell. I guess we will cross borders alot more in the future, when more and more movies are going up on the internet instead of national television.

Hey Andreas, thats sounds great! I got a meeting with people aswell ;) Im leaving on thursday, because I need to get outside of Amsterdam to Xsens HQ and talk about mocap stuff. I guess thats something that might be interesting to you aswell, since you are all into that crazy gymnastic stuff. Check out the demo reel I did for Moven:

Hi. Does anyone here know how much tax you´ll have to pay if you import a red from the states? Is it only "moms" or what?:unsure:
 
Hi Orre, it's 25% "Moms" and additional import tax on electronics.
The tax varies depending if the electronics are able can use are a recorder and so on. A wild guess would be that it's around 11%. (I could be wrong)

The "moms" are deductable if you have a "F-Skatt sedel"

My swedish is pretty lousy, so I'll continue in english.

Great to see so many fellow scandinavians riding the RED wave :)
I know there's something like 5 - 10 cameras on order in Denmark.
We'll be getting ours (RED 229) in october (hopefully:)

I've been considering if it wouldn't be a good idea to set up a RED Scandinavian Network:
A lot of our business is pan scandinavian and the featurefilm industry in our countries seem to be completely knitted in with each other in terms financial support from the respective film institutes. We will most likely be working together sooner or later, so why not setup a network ? It could be as simple as a list of RED owners in scandinavia, making it a lot easier to find some spare rental cameras, lenses & accessories. It could be more elaborate - as in a way of trying to help standardize workflows on set through post. (We're taking the FCP -> Scratch road ourselves :)

Nice to hear that :)

I wouldn't be surprised if several of us get a chance to meet at IBC. We will be there for sure. Nevertheless I'll take the initiative in an attempt to make a comprehensive Scandinavian list when we get back. I firmly believe that the succes of the RED camera's in terms of rental objects is highly dependant on the presence of a proven support infrastructure, (who do we go to if something goes apeshit during a rental.) If these camera's are going to be viewed as attractive for pros, we'll have to demonstrate how to take care of the whole chain in production. I think we can learn a great deal from each other in that respect - to the benefit of not only our customers, but also ourselves.

Actually it's more like 2-3 hours by train. Not that it matters that much in the great scheme of things :)

We're based in Aarhus, danish mainland :)

Oh, Aarhus held a big gymnastics competition not too long ago, I was told it only took 1 hour by train but I guess they said that to get me to tag along. :)

Do you have any fun projects lined up for your RED?
 
Luckily, we'll start shooting a short just a few weeks after we get the camera. A brilliant way of doing the first test on a project that isn't exactly breakneck dimensioned :)

After that there's both some features and a TV series in the pipe that's going to benefit from the features of this baby.

I Caaaaaan't wait !!! :)

Är det någon i Sverige/Norden som får någon RED nu i september eller början av oktober. Jag vill hyra en vecka för ett jobb!
 
Rykten säger att ljud och bildmedia ab har nummer 40. Kan vara fel, men ring och kolla med dem om inte annat :)

Själv sätter jag ihop ett uthyrningspack som ska vara klart runt nyår är tanken :)
 
Är det någon annan som sitter i samma båt som jag. Dvs, har inte ett enda tillbehör och är intresserad av att fixa lite grupprabatter (dvs sambeställning)?!

Jag behöver heads+stativ (O´connor 1030 ser fint ut), Mattebox, followfocus, ND filter, test charts... Well you name it.. Så om det finns intresse tycker jag vi kan sätta ihop en liten diskussions grupp för gällande sambeställningar..
