  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Color - A look at REDWideGamutRGB/Log3G10

nagging question, almost related...

why can you not, say, change back to redgamma3 after you've selected redgamma4?

also, i'm on redcinex 42 beta and see no option for rwg... :(

thank you! still don't see rwg, though, in redcinex 42b :(

I believe it should be under the "Look:Image" tab and it should be the last selection in the "Color Space" pull down menu "RedwidegamutRGB"

Bump!

Graeme Nattress is the sdk out yet for the REDWideGamutRGB/Log3G10? Im hoping to se this in next Adobe premiere update wich im betting will be sometime in this month.

Now that release build 42 is out, have the conversion LUTs been released?

Soon. I'll post up some revised image samples a bit later tonight. Graeme has been hard at work making things even better. You guys will love where this is going.

Just for clarity; you'll be releasing updated comparisons, but the LUTs won't be released tonight, correct?

Yep. Just some updated samples. You'll truly want to wait until the nails are fully hammered into the boards on this one. Mostly what everybody gets to see right now is the ball in motion to the basket. Once it's a swish everybody can pick it up and try a shot :)

It has been out since build 42 beta was released. A new version is up now that has a change to Log3G10, which matches release build 42.

i know aces is designed for bigger projects but i'd be interested to learn a little more about how this plays with an aces path, thanks guys

Just want to say how great this thread is, really appreciate it!

Phil you are brave to mix your mug in with the beautiful people. Great dedication.

Thanks to all!

Given the fixed and wide dynamic range of both ACES and Log3G10/RWG data, conversion back and forth between the two is simple, so that should ease workflow. Also, because of the gamut mapping I'll be including in the new processing that goes with Log3G10/RWG we can convert to ACES data such that we should be able to alievate some of the gamut issues we (and others, and other cameras) see in ACES development.

I think I am more excited by the possibilities than I am by the new camera releases.
