Red #88 For Sale - Portland, OR

[damonbots]

Wow... just a few weeks ago somebody was blabbing about there being no demand for a second hand REDONE. Nice prediction.

[Finner]

does anyone have a link to this red on e-bay? I could not find it.

[Michael Schrengohst]

Crap, now Jim will think about raising prices!!

This doesn't exactly qualify as a second hand RED though does it now....

You're right. I meant new REDONE for resale. I'm just lazy

[donatello b]

paid 24K ... sold 38k ... hummmmmm ...
very tempting !!!

[Clayton Harper]

Looks like a French buyer too. I wonder if a weak dollar is making it easier to bid like that?

[Greg M]

I expected it to go higher...I had two unsolicited offers for $50k. The most recent offer from Mexico, and I know he found a seller.

Mines not for sale btw

one euro will get you $1.44 USA ... so Euro is strong and the US $ is weak and IMO if oil keeps going up the US $$ will fall some more

one US $ will get you .69 euro ...

I thought it would get a touch higher as well, but I think a lot of that had to do with the local pick-up only. Speaking of higher offers... when I posted #728 for sale last week, I quickly got an offer for $1 million. I think the guy was just joking around. I hope he was, I tried to respond to his offer but his email server rejected my message.

Anyway, whoever lost on Dan's camera, I've got one for sale. Not currently in my possession though, it's supposed to be shipping in early January. Late enough that it shouldn't need to go back to the factory for board upgrades. Plus I'm throwing in the 'R' with the sale.

P.S. - Congrats Dan, sounds like you got a solid price for yours.

Hmmm 50k? better throw in some first class air tickets and have the limo waiting.

[Michael Ragen]

I too had an offer many months ago for 50k for just the camera body.

In that eBay ad, he says it comes with a quickplate; from my knowledge those are not yet available (are they?). They weren't ready at my RED Day, and I placed an order for one and haven't received it yet... can you confirm this, Dan?

[Jeff Kilgroe]

Same with the Nikon mount -- he's paid for one, but it isn't available yet that I'm aware of.

[Daniel K]

Wow, that was insane. Thanks to the forum and everyone for keeping me honest.

I opened the boxes at the winner's request, and yeah, the packing slip shows the Nikon mount and Quickplate are backordered. Sorry for implying otherwise.

[TriplePlay]

Is this camera still available ? Please let me know thanks....David !!

[Dalibor Fencl]

38K - congratulation too,

but now I'm afraid, this may be the moment when RED guys start thing about higher prizes.

Speaking of keeping one honest, don't forget to set aside $$$ to pay for the corresponding income tax.
