  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

$16,819= the profit you should be making on your Red as a production tool in its first 2-3 months of use!!!

...and precisely why mine is not for sale, you cant pay me more than I can earn with the camera. not to mention the lower takes paid by using the camera vs the capitol gains taxes the seller will now owe.

Exactly.

It's nice to see DanK did alright with his auction, but I think this is also why he preferred to find a long-term rental instead. I think with a long-term (6 months or more) rental, he stood to make about the same money and keep the camera.

I have no plans of reselling my RED -- probably wouldn't do this well anyway, being a much higher number. But I can easily see earning a 3:1 return on my RED purchase and companion equipment within the first year, by actually using it. I did throw my hat into the ring for DanK's auction, but wasn't going anywhere near that final bid amount. Plenty of other things to do for the next couple months until my own RED # comes up.

Well, due to crappy circumstances, it looks as though I will not be able to afford to keep my RED camera either. Feel free to PM me with offers - I have #455, so should take delivery on or shortly after December 10th.
