Hi everyone!

I was playing around with the settings on my Scarlet and wanted to show a colleague who is overseas how to setup a specific function on his camera. Is there any in built screen recording functions on board the scarlet so
I can record my workflow and send that footage off to my colleague?

I have had a good look around but can't see anything mentioned about,

Thanks!

Kieren.

No screen recorder... can either use a smart phone to film or photograph the screen or...

go to menu > settings > setup > key mapping
select a camera button by clicking it and assign it to 'Save UI screenshot to media'

then you can take screenshot of the UI (minus the actual image) that will be saved on your SSD ready to share with you friend...

BTW it would be amazing if there was an option to also save the UI + image (real screenshot) to avoid having to photograph the camera screen and keep a reference to a particular shot as it is often done on set.
a lot of recent monitors now allow to do it (transvideo starlite, small hd) and keep a frame library on a SD card but it would be so much better to do it in camera :-)

You could also run a signal cable to a recorder and, so long as your overlay is setup correctly, it should record everything that would be visible on the touch screen.

Could that work for your needs?

Yeah run a SDI or HDMI signal to a external recorder if you have one, make sure the signal is not "clean" or else you would lose you UI

Yes, this will show the surounding overlay UI but not the red line selection nor any of the menu...
Unless your monitor priority is set to that output but then you no longer have tactile screen and need to do all the navigation using the sidehandle... In that case yes you can record the output signal with all the menu :-)

The best option so far in my view is to use the default snipping tool or use a free screen recorder like CloudApp. You can share both screenshot or recorded screen videos with CloudApp.
