  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ready, Aim... Fire.

I'm seeing RED. But I don't need a doctor.

With Jim at the helm the future is going to be one dream after another
come true.

Laser Projectors......full photons ahead Captain.

Just don't forget R3D... There isn't any other Image format that offer: raw, meta data, regular updates on gamma curve, log-lin, preview in camera, free (and great) software tool, 5K, Adobe (and +++) integration.

No other single format. Or I'm wrong?

C3PO of Star Wars is dating Red's R3D.

Cyber meta bliss!

All my old files are coming to life without needing a grade...

Jim

The truth is that EPIC makes the best images in the industry. And Scarlet is a close 2nd. RPPs are the hidden secret.

I'm OK with that.

Jim

I ordered the RED 17-50mm for my EPIC-X and hope it rocks. I have been thinking though that RED is likely going to reboot the RPPs. Am I to interpret your statement as suggesting this is not the case, and the RPPs will be in the current state for a good bit of time?

The RPPs are the single most underrated lenses in the industry. Really.

I guess we didn't hype them enough. :-)

Jim
That's exactly what my brother and I were saying today as we were looking at some images shot with RPP's. That's why we decided we'd get them when we can finally afford to graduate to PL lenses.

Actually... this is a thread about RG3/RC3 and the RPPs just got in the way. :-)

Jim

Will the RG3/RC3 functionality be released jointly in Redcine Pro and a new beta firmware release? I'm asking because I'm unclear if you even need it in the firmware as long as you can improve any Redcode RAW image. Some people take your disclaimer seriously that they should not shoot professionally on anything but a build that is deemed ready. Personally, the firmware guys seem to be putting out better beta, so I have no problems installing the newest beta releases as they come out.

RG3/RC3 will come out as a camera firmware build and a REDCINE-X Pro build at the same time. The SDK will be updated within days.

That is the beauty of R3D raw my friend... you don't need RG3 on camera and recorded to reap the benefits... some of the frames Jim are posting was from before we started shipping the RED ONE, he is just processing them using RG3 and RC3 in a new RCX :)

So to answer your question.. you can still shoot RG2 on camera and use RC3/RG3 in post untill there is a release build. Trust me though...... your gonna wanna use the new camera build as soon as you can. The stability of our beta builds have now gotten to a point where they are more reliable than our old release builds. Part of growing up, and this next build is gonna be a big one :)

The RG3/RC3 samples in this Thread look fantastic and have a very Natural look to them.

LOVE IT!

Are we talking before Monday Jarred?

More RG3/RC3...
