  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RAVEN RIGS

Anyone that has a Raven with 4.7" screen can answer this for me... Using the secondary LCD/EVF port like this: http://s667.photobucket.com/user/jlevy23/media/kowa_zpsa2yqfjrc.png.html Can you flip the 4.7" screen upside down? So its flat against the body (where the Minimag goes)?
Kabilen, I read your question differently than was previously answered. Do the picks below describe what your asking? The only issue I see is that when you fold the touch screen down towards the media bay the the screen itself is the first part to make contact. So if it had pressure on it while folded it could cause damage to your screen.

Here's something else cool you can do when the 4.7 touch screen is mounted in the top position with the OFFHOLLYWOOD standard top plate.

i just got the wooden camera attachment that makes the monitor tool-less, i havent tried it yet but i bet it lift it enough that you will be able to fold it down without touching. stay tuned.

Oh yeah! I bet you're right! I'm pretty sure that would work. When you have a chance you'll have to post pics :)

Is that a PL to EF adapter?, does it work good?, any links to buy them?, or are they only compatible with some PL's?

The Raven will really put through the test on this shoot, though i cant share any footage from it yet since its a network tv show but i can share the daily rigs! please feel free to use this thread to show off your rigs too! id love to see!
cinemahardware makes a pretty awesome v-mount mdr rig that has made the raven very stealthy on these mounted and steadicam situations.
enjoy!

yes! its the c7 adapter, you can buy from their website or from ebay and its the best adapter, on their auction you can see what its compatible with, mainly only short pl mounts less then 7mm long that are typically only on zooms, but i found that the kowas and lomos at my regialr camera house have compatible pl mounts too.

sorry it took me awhile to post pictures but it does work! so with the wooden camera tool-less monitor adapter you can totally and safely fold down the monitor. i will never have to try to find that tool again, this is how it should of been made.

thanks man! wait until you see the rest of this season airing now, its pretty insane, picked up for season 4 too!
this was the first season shot on red, i made the change to get the raven into the mix.

(EDIT: Sorry, this didn't include the original quote... I was asking about the OFFHOLLYWOOD top plate and whether it works well as a "permanent" attachment to allow the 4.7" to live on the Raven at all times... with a nice little "buffer" between the screen and the top plate)

Hey that's great, Spencer... I'd like to have the 4.7 attached on top of my Raven at all times. This seems like a good fit, assuming you'd add in a layer of pad between the screen and the top plate. Do you agree that it can be "permanently" stowed with this configuration with the OFFHOLLYWOOD top plate?

Hey Everyone,

Quick question, has anyone had any issues with the Wooden Camera cables? I just had to send my 5.0 touch in for repairs, and I was warned by multiple RED employees to steer clear. I normally use a lemo A and a cinecoil cable, I do have a wooden camera pogo to lemo as a back-up but now I'm second guessing if I should ditch both cables and only use RED Lemo's. I was just curious to see if anyone had any negative experiences with them.
