The Raven will really put through the test on this shoot, though i cant share any footage from it yet since its a network tv show but i can share the daily rigs! please feel free to use this thread to show off your rigs too! id love to see!
cinemahardware makes a pretty awesome v-mount mdr rig that has made the raven very stealthy on these mounted and steadicam situations.
enjoy!

Nice. what baseplate is attached to your cam?

I tested mine last month and still no time to play (Smh)....Raven + Helix

I was assuming the gun was a prop but maybe it is a security system of sorts....

dual purpose (shooting in east LA)
the shot was hilarious!

the cinema hardware piece is to hold an MDR in a bracket between the module and the battery, clicks into v or ab mount and the battery rides on the back, instead of mounting everything separately to back rods or on top of the camera.

yeah chris, well we still had to add weight to this rig for steadicam! they dont like it too light, that front MDR unit is doing nothing except for that, balance.

i also realize how much the AC's love the monitor on the side, for pretty much everything.
they state the universal handle is pretty much useless, if you attach things to it, it cant be used as a handle, and if you dont, then it takes up all the room.
as well, as a handle, just too small anyway, unless you can pick up the camera with two fingers. so they havent taken off my side outrigger, that i actually have rigged reversed, its made for the left side of camera, but i have it on the right.

kwan, which plate, i have the wooden camera one i know, the other came with steadicam i think.

yesterday we shot with all kowas, but a lot of blood and goo being sprayed everywhere so the cameras were covered in plastic, so no pictures of yesterdays setups but here is the raven with a kowa cine lens from the prep for those who havent seen my other thread.

These look awesome guys. Thanks for posting.

Jordan, what kind of runtime are you getting on that Hypercore Slim in a real working environment?

ill ask my AC's this weekend, we have 2 down days, but i have a lot hooked up to a quad split dtap, so it seems like we are burning through them!

Put my Raven on an R8 & an A4 this week. Talk about sweating bullets.

I'll go on my desktop tonight and upload some full size snapshots that were not taken with a potato.

well i could only get one more picture on yesterdays shoot because the rigs were all wrapped in plastic because of the alien goo that was being blasted all over the set.
but here is a shot of the rig with a kowa prime before it went under.
also many many people are emailing me about the pl adapter and what lenses work with it, so i took a shot of the difference in pl mounts on certain lenses.
one bad one good.

GOOD (slim pl)

BAD (standard prime pl)

VERY GOOD (kowa primes i found with slim pl mount, a fluke?)

Some Raven car rig shots...

Having I/O on the side, and WiFi is a massive improvement for me. I used to run an SDI cable into the vehicle and use a REDmote which, honestly was pretty surprisingly reliable. But on this setup, I was able to just pop in an HDMI wireless transmitter straight into the port. Then I used a short mini usb power cable to get wireless video to my battery powered SmallHD 702. Then I could walk around the car and check reflections and framing, focus with foolcontrol, and start and stop the rec reliably without having to worry about running & taping a cable all along the car.

Wireless is good.
