  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Raven Queue Put Together

I understand this is not the officially queue but then, anytime I see my name go down the list here, it's another reminder of how far I am on the actual list ���� and the reality of me getting my camera soon.. I'm new to this pre-order thing and I'm sure by now my bomb squad dude is done with my questions ����.. That's why I joined this reduser forum... How do you "senior" members cope with the anxiety of preorders?... I just like to pay and get my gear out. This is too much of a tease hahaha... I actually placed my order for the Raven I/O v-lock package in January, 29th to be precise( should have placed my order earlier was only skeptical, now I know better ) and with the look of things I guess I should be getting my Raven by June or is there a chance I can get it earlier..or is June even too early? Like I said I'm new to all these so anyone with experience pls explain how long it might actually take.

Haha we are the same day preorder.. Although I'm not a "senior member" I'll chime in..

To cope with the anxiety of preorder.. Get busy/stay busy, out of sight out of mind. I was assuming May with my preorder.. Now I'm thinking more like June, because of how long it's been since the 17th of March and how little has changed on OUR UNOFFICIAL queue thread. There is supposed to be a major ramp up in production coming up, so we can follow the allocations and etc. and see how much people before us in the queue are getting allocated and make an educated guess on when our Raven could land.

I guess you part of the people pushing me down the unofficial list hahaha... Well i'm actually hoping i get it by MAY as well but i'll rather estimate shipping for June or even later and get it earlier. It's just reverse psychology.

But what i don't understand is the allocation system. I get it's by timestamp priority and all, but at what point does the major shipping blast start where timestamp will no longer be a priority, After NAB or when the camera is fully in stock?of which there are so many orders to be attended to before that happens. Or are we going to wait all year depending on how late you ordered since there are people who ordered months ahead of you? At least i know RED will not go Black magic on us if you know what i mean.

Time stamp will continue to matter as long as there are preorders. Once they've got through all preorders and have Ravens readily available someone would just make their purchase and wait for shipping. There's a whole bunch of orders but most are Sept-Oct. once they get passed those months the pace of allocations will increase.

I ordered morning if second day - not sure it is going to make that much difference exact time LOL
but - has there been any update on when Ravens start to get shipped? There was a post about 4/17 - not sure if that is still the target date
 
All I've seen are the three that are listed on the first page. Packages wont even begin to be allocated until 4/8 I think.

though a few scarlet-w pkgs were allocated last week, which according to brent a couple of weeks ago that as many raven pkgs as scarlet-w pkgs will allocated simultaneously.
so, if that held true, then there was a few more raven pkgs, and maybe the first ones, allocated but those people(or dealers) are not on reduser.

Hey Tony, I've been contemplating on what to do since it'll be some time before I'm close to allocated.. Was wondering what were the deciding factors that made you switch?

I was thinking about it a while too. Mostly just thinking about longevity. At the moment I mostly shoot EF glass but for future projects the versatility of the switchable mounts and OLPF's is appealing. The few scattered larger projects I get where I can rent out a larger package and PL glass I would love to be able to use my own camera for those. The crop factor is also a draw for me to the Scarlet.
Not to mention I can get it sooner. That's a pretty big factor.

Everything you said is what I'm thinking. Getting it sooner relative to my preorder stamp isn't so big for me though. So thanks for the info, I'll see where things take me.
