  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Raven Queue Put Together

Yes, I moved back actually. I did it yesterday, my rep says I could get it end of December or January, I hope it'll be January.
You think it could be more?
 
According to my rep, switching back to Raven from Scarlet-W put me at the end of the line. So I ordered now, this Monday. Monday 10 October 2016. I think it could take longer than January. Maybe February?

honestly that's BS and something that would give me huge pause to finalize the sales on the 2 Red's we have in order if that's how they treat customers?! The only reason why this flip flopping is even happening is because orders are taking 6-12 months to fill. They should understand that there MUST be a certain level of flexibility on their part because of this and should have let you switch back to Raven with your original time stamp without question.

As for us, 6 months ago we 100% paid off a Raven (with a retailer) and moved a second Raven to a Scarlet-W directly with Red ONLY because they said we should get it faster.... Long story short, we still do not have either our Raven or Scarlet so if it turns out that Raven orders are being filled faster, then they should allow to get back in the Raven line with our April 19th stamp.

The bottom line is that for many people, this is their first experience with red which so far has equated to a bunch of waiting. I would think red reps would be sensitive to this instead of "back to the end of line" antics which is only going to piss off potential life-long red users.

Pretty sure this isn't the case - I switched to SW and back again and my brilliant Rep Vicky never mentioned anything like this when I switched back. Maybe they changed things but I think RED and the reps are pretty understanding of our predicament.
 
This doesn't change the fact that I was forced to step back to Raven because I had to buy another camera to fill the gap. I ordered my Scarlet-W in March and nothing for over 6 months seemed to be moving. So I sold my old cameras before they lost value completely and then I was standing in front of an empty space waiting.
Time ticking, getting anxious.
I spent money. So one month ago I was able to afford the marvelous discounted upgrade, now hell no. So I thank them for the possibility, but still.
Now, even though I want my Raven, I find myself hoping that it doesn't come before January, so that I will be able to pay for it without any struggle.

But I think I have nothing to fear as I am now down in the line and there are people waiting for it from December.

I have nothing to complain, I understand that it must be difficult for them, but try to see the larger picture, I am a first timer at RED and a month ago I was gonna buy a RED Epic-W, now I find myself with a Raven order and I want it to take as long as possible to be allocated.

Just do the math.
 
Well, you're right. I'm sorry, my bad.
What I meant it's actually: I had a Scarlet-W order, I updated to Epic-W and then I switched to the Raven.

Anyway I don't want to start no flame, and for sure i'm not here to complain.
I just wanted to know how it's going with the Raven allocation, to estimate if the December/January it's a probable date or an improbable one.

Is there any chance that everyone watching this thread has upgraded to the S-W or Epic-W after last nights announcement? I know one of the reasons for the heavy discount is to ease the que on the Raven/S-W, so just wondering if thats worked?

FYI - I ordered my Raven package on the April 18th at 12:40

I am considering switching to the S-W or the Epic-W but have heard from my rep this morning that if I do this I would loose my accessories from the package deal and can only switch to a brain only - can't really complain about that with the $10,000 saving though!
 
Guys, have there been new allocations these days? I'm dying to see the updated list, my 8 year old 5D just died on me so now I'm officially cameraless till I get my Raven so any gigs I get from here till then I'll have to rent. Being cameraless and so close in the queue I'm going nuts waiting for my allocation :(
 
Hopefully tomorrow is a nice allocation day, things have been super slow around here probably due to the preparation of Epic-W and The Upgrade Paths. Hopefully we're in for a nice surprise tomorrow. Been 13 away on our unofficial list now for like 2 weeks lol

I did note that we are now in the post-Carrion pre-order timeframe which also may have contributed to the lack of any progress on the pre-order list for the past 3 weeks......but Mr. Bebbington is next on the list (Minu Park switched from Raven > S-W).

Yes things are moving super slow! I was allocated more than one month ago and still no news about my red! I'm a little bit disappointed in the lack of info I'm having about this! Even my rep doesn't know anything!
 
Jarred did mention, I think it was the Epic-W thread, that there has been a lot going on with the new cameras and all, so much so that they weren't even able to load all the cameras onto the FedEx Truck, some of which went to dealers (If I remember correctly).

Another reason may also be that they held back in order too see if some of the Raven/Scarlett pre-orders will jump to Epic-W/Helium Weapon, as it's really an amazing deal. If I had the resources I would definitely jump to Epic-W as well.

I hope it'll pick up quickly though, I really can't wait to get my hands on my Raven.

I switched to an Epic-W as well. You can take me off the Raven list. I ordered within the first hour, paid the next day but still no word on shipment (in reference to the Epic-W)
 
I also switched to the Epic-W and can be taken off the Raven list. FYI, Ive been working with Justin at Innocinema in Atlanta with my RED orders. He has been absolutely fantastic to work with.

So you were already allocated? I got a quote first day and my preorder was switched over in the first hour but havent heard anything about being allocated yet.
