R.I.P Tony Scott

I'm sad to hear the news of Tony Scott's death. My mom brought home a betamax copy of his reel when I was about 12. He was big in Europe and just starting to break into the US, maybe about 10 years before "Top Gun". It was amazing, my brother and I watched it so much I think we wore it out and would act out the scenes in the commercials. It had a big impact on my sense of what directing was. RIP, and thank you for the inspiration.

"My mom's baked beans are better than you mom's baked beans."

The word around town from the people who would know is,

Tony got a diagnosis that said this outcome was inevitable. He decided to do it on his terms instead of waiting in a bed.

It is a severe loss for the world at large. Many people who knew him describe him as a big personality and the nicest guy. What ever your opinion, you always knew when he walked into a room. Tragically, no one will feel that again, and we are the poorer for it. My sincere condolences to all affected by this

RIP Tony

:(

Not sure if i should be honored or worried he choose my bridge for the big dive?
Really sad

I just finished watching "The Grey" and in it, the themes of mortality, when to fight, when to give up, and the "honor" of both, made me think about him. Then as the credits rolled in the end, both he and his brother came up. I'm just so stunned and saddened by all this, sometimes I wish life was not just like in the movies.

"Once more into this fray. . .
Into the last good fight I'll ever know.
Live and die on this day. . .
Live and die on this day. . . "

Some of his movies were under the first Hollywood-movies i saw as kid after the fall of the Berlin wall. They had a huge influence on me, especially on my perception of movies and my since then growing love to them.

R.I.P. Tony.

A great loss

A great loss

We are shooting plate shots for "The Good Wife" this week.

Our entire crew is absolutely shocked ... and extends its heartfelt condolences to Donna, Max, Frank, Ridley, Jordan, Jake ... and the rest of the Scott family.

Sadly, the film industry has lost one of its greatest directors.

Team Tempest has been coaching Tony Scott's very talented sons for over a year. You can see their videos below, it has been a pleasure to get to know Tony a bit in the process too.

Our hearts are going out to his family, especially Frank and Max, who are dealing with such a significant loss. We as a team are going to do what we can to support them.

Very impressive! What a great family. Too sad.
