  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Purchasing a new Weapon

Buy a used camera and upgrade it might be an alternative? If you pay up for forged you may get it faster...
 
.. and this thread makes me wax lyrical on just how many of us wish we could go (=afford!) forged and jump the queue, new purchase or upgrade.. great to see forged Weapons shipping. Baited breath on our CF Weapon upgrade.
 
We have all learned to be patient. I am just hoping the CF Weapons ship prior to my next feature in late September

I think many people can afford the Forged, I believe its a question of is it worth the money? I don't think so and I personally prefer the look of the Carbon.

Although, I am torn between the above and the quality control of the Forged... Something about Jarred's SUV driving over the Forged bodies (4 at a clip) as part of the QC that has appeal, for real world durability...

Everyone has different ways of doing business and running their business and brand.
I have one simple question I ask whenever I am making a purchase, is this $$ going to increase the value of what I am putting on the screen?
Weapon Upgrade= more from Dragon sensor, Check
8K Full Frame Sensor, Double check.
Forged Body = I can leave my camera under cars without worry, Nope. I'll hold on to that 10K:)

But to each his own;)

Since the Forged is shipping now there is a time advantage as well if you don't care about the extra strength or cosmetics. I know there are some that value that time savings more than anything else, out of pure impatience or because they have jobs lined up that makes it a profitable expense.

And of course, when the 8K rolls out, the Forged are going to be first in line for those as well.

Yup, and I couldn't have pulled the trigger quicker when they went on sale during NAB... Loving my Forged Weapon and onto job #3 with it this week!

Any time estimate for first CF dragon release.

I think I got the whole time scheme wrong, that the CF would start ship this summer. So as our M got stolen right before NAB I figured I just order a CF and just wait it out and rent camera until the weapon is delivered... Now in retrospect I can only see that I should have ordered a forged, and possibly I still should but then if the CF cameras comes like next week or so then that would have been money wasted.

So simply, any estimate for when the CF start to ship would be very handy. I understand that it might be a very difficult thing to predict but still your guess is better than anything else.
