Hey,

Does anyone have any information or experience dealing with Kemal Yildirim from Koney Films Production.

I sent him money via paypal gift and once the money has been sent, I lost all communication with him. I see him online almost daily as well. It was for a DSMC2 7" Touch, which I sent him $2,100.00 USD. I had a friend send him money through PayPal goods and services for prodcuts, he immediately refunded his money and broke all communication. I unfortunately found out about this AFTER I had sent money.

Feeling pretty terrible about something like this.

Hey Cory,

What a bad situation bro. I wrote him like a week ago trying to buy him a Scarlet W and he broke all communication with me when I told him that I wanted to check out the camera... It sucks those scams happening in our community.

Cheer up man, you're earning possitive karma...

Kemal Yildirim / Michael Paris & more are scams

Kemal Yildirim / Michael Paris & more are scams

dealt with him twice now under 2 different names, both scams

Thanks for the heads up Cory! I hope that you find a way to get you money back. Maybe report him to Paypal? See if there is a way.

Same thing happened to me with a 7" touch. He PM'd me, we agreed on a price of $2,100. I sent the money via paypal and never heard from him again. I felt in my gut that something was wrong. 2 days later I recieved a paypal refund with a note that said his business partner didn't agree on the sale and sorry for the troubles. I tried PMing him again and not a word since.

I dont get it....

So you got your money back through correct? Paypal protects you as the buyer in these situations and this is why you NEVER send money as a gift unless you know the person. If they insist move on. Tell them you will gladly add the 2.9% + .35 fee to the total that way all parties are protected.

I sadly did not get my money back, I am headed into my bank in the next hour to force a payment reversal to see if they can do anything for me, this is what PayPal suggested. I have already chatted with PayPal and they will not do anything for me due to the "friends and family" transaction.

I am very upset that people still do things like this, I work hard for my money and have had cameras stolen, and now money like this. It's a shame.

That being said, does anyone have any leads on a 7.0" touch that is for sale? I need one for my Epic-W coming in the next few weeks.

Thanks everyone.

Hey guys, I warned people like a month ago about him. He posted on the list of red epic dragons for sale page. I found out that he was a scammer. He used Scott summers photos and exact sentences to list the camera. I sent him $14500 by paypal goods and services. He refunded right away and pushed me to send it as family or friends. I didn't. Then he asked me to send him $50 to start the deal. I said fuck it and sent it. I never got it back. the problem is. His listing for Epic Dragon was on the page for list of red epics for sale. When I exposed him there and wrote on that page and the moderator of that page that he was a scammer, the moderator said he was sorry for that and he just deleted Kemal's post and my post. His reason was that page was not a scam alert page. If he kept my post there people would know that Kemal was a scammer. So if a scammer trying to scam people on your post, do not delete the post exposing the scammer just because your page is not a scam alert page. It could save others from being scammed. I have all the messages between me and Kemal. He accepted that he was a scammer, he apologized and said that he was sorry and my message touched him in so many ways. Obviously It didn't touch because he kept scamming. Just because people use red cameras doesn't mean they have shit ton of money man. At least not me :) I was almost loosing everything we had.

1. I've been on multiple forums for years and it's standard protocol that moderators actually leave all scammer alert warnings alone, no matter where they reside on the forum. Why this forum is different, with the amount of money that is exchanging hands, is bothersome to say the least.

2. This should be reported to international authorities. We work with some of the agencies and the tracking tech is pretty amazing now. Interpol will be able to snatch this fellow up in a heartbeat if enough money has been stolen.

I have an investigation in with the bank, and they are getting back to me as soon as they can. It is looking somewhat promising that I will get credited from my bank.

Osman, you're absolutely right - just because we own RED's doesn't mean we have thousands of dollars sitting around. I had a very good January and February which led me to pulling the trigger on doing the Epic-MX to the Epic - W trade in, with no a lot of money to spare.

I still have an office to pay for, an apartment, a car, and food to keep on the table. Now if people are fucking me out of equipment to utilize to pay for these things. They really should take a step back and think what they are doing. I can't believe people have the conscience to do these things, it makes me sick.

I am proud to be a part of the RED community, but a little ashamed that people like that exist among our community as well.

I have made roughly 5 transactions accumulating just about $10,000.00 CAD, and one of them had to be a scam. Those aren't great odds.

Hoping everything pans out, and that this guy does not get to anyone else.

Ive been having weird experiences with buyers, not going to say names (yet) but my posts clearly say UNITED STATES ONLY. Ive gotten 3 (so far) people saying they live in another country but will have it shipped to a US address where their daughter lives. They hound me for an invoice, as soon as I send it I never hear back from them. I think their hoping ill send the item before I recieve a payment. Idk whats up with that, but wondering if any one else has had thay issue.

Not to mention their english is terrible (nothing wrong with that), and their names, email addresses and paypal names are all different

Update: I just recieved a payment via paypal with fees. So im going to ship the item and see. Maybe my hunch was wrong and I was being paranoid because of these scammers.

Guys I have one rule always always do Paypal (with fees version) I know its a pain in the but and cost money but saves you on the wft moment when someone isn't being truthfull. sorry to hear that man

Can the anyone advise me on how to purchase camera safely without getting into the hands of scams.

Thanks

Only buy from someone with a good track record? I've bought and sold many items and never had any problems. I won't accept PayPal goods and services payments for selling more expensive items. PayPal only protects the buyer, not the seller. A buyer could potentially dispute the condition of an item and get their money back, and all you get back is a brick in the mail!

Sorry to hear about this Cory. I think something I could do better to help the community is to post more praise for users who are stellar sellers and buyers. I have had some amazing transactions in the last few months as I bought and sold a lot of gear changing over to 8K. At the end of the day you need to go with your gut. If it feels wrong it probably is. Where on the board would be a good place to start a feedback thread for great transactions? Does one exist already?

Wish RU had a buy & sell feedback system in place. My method to protect my hard earned $$ is not overly complicated. See when did the seller(or buyer) register on RU & how many posts they have. Check the quality of posts too. Scammers are smart but pathetic low life people. Just to increase the post count they may respond to other's posts like "Good show" or "impressive work" etc!! Get their phone number & talk to them. ( Don't ask them to call you !!! ). When you call and if the VM goes to a google voice messaging system, you can 100% assure that they are scammers. As others suggested, unless you are 100% sure about the credibility of the seller ( Senior forum members with 100s of posts or well known RU member etc ), don't use paypal "friends and family' option. If it's a high $$ item, ask them whether you can have a F2F transaction ( wherever they are !! ). Always use paypal invoice option when you deal with international sellers unless they have a significant credibility on RU. ( This is applicable for local sellers too, but when it comes to international sellers, be even more careful).
Ask for additional pictures, offer to split paypal fee, ask for references ( Facebook, Linkedln, eBay etc and send them message through that system to verify !! ) etc should also help. Good luck buying & selling !

Cory, hope you get this resolved asap.

I met Cory in person when I flew in to pick up an EPIC MX from a different buyer and he had some pieces I wanted. He even drove in to meet me 1+ hour away. Great guy and I know he's trying to fund his Epic W which is even more depressing to read about this.

Bank wouldn't do anything in regards to a refund or reversal of payment. Which means I am out $2,800.00CAD.

Be sure to do your homework on people, and only send money the proper way and if it's right.

Some people are terrible.

This would be a great idea! I have made a few purchases here and its been awesome! Some people are super shitty! I am the one in Cory original post about getting the refund almost immediately when I sent via goods and services. Sadly I wasn't able to help him out as it happened at the same time! People suck and keeping track of the good ones would be awesome and a system where someone on that list could vouch for a new seller or member as well would be great!

I had also been in discussion about buying the 7" monitor from him. He had requested i use the "cash" app by square to send the money as a gift. Seemed fishy to me and didnt feel right so i didnt go through with the deal. Sucks to hear you couldnt get the money back....
