  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post Your Scarlet-X Rig

What bottom plate do you have? is this the FMJ-BOTTOM Plate with FMJ-15MM-LW Bracket from viewfactor or the Easy Riser + LW 15mm Bracket from wooden camera? What rods are you using? does obox come with the rods youre using?
For LWS setup, I use Wooden Camera Easy Riser & LW 15mm Bracket. OBox doesn't come with any rods. It comes with only 15mm LWS bracket and you can get an optional studio bracket if you want.

Yep that power module sure makes the Scarlet/Epic brains look proportionally more like a digi betacam or Alexa, though still shorter in length then those cameras.

If your after a module I've noticed a lot of Epic owners trying to sell their's on the "Red items" board.

I got it from a red user here... not many people like them I guess but I like it... there are some downsides but we'll see how it holds up.

Patrick,

i got this: Hosa XLR3F to Right Angle 3.5mm 1' XVS-101F. and the audio comes in one channel only, but i just force it to both in premiere. i use it mostly for audio sync'ing and not as sole audio. but it does the trick until phantom power is enabled. the mic is the rode ntg2.
Great. Thanks tony. Most of the direct sound is only useable for sync anyway. Like the setup with the arm.
Would love to find out if the hidden mic in the gunner renderings would be somehow possible.

Thanks and cheers! :)

Hey Louis, keep us posted be interesting to know.

I think most owners already have viable power options or maybe everyone is holding out for that fabled I/O module.

Here is my Scarlet-X "Adonis" with two different modes, LWS with Leica Allstar mount and Studio with PL mount.
I like the LWS setup, Jay.

Do you happen to have another photo with a close-up on how you mounted the two Wooden Camera handles ? Are you using an Easy Plate ?

Yes. It is Wooden Camera Easy Plate XL. I will post another photo today.

The follow focus unit in the pics is a Gini Rig Ifocus unit, they are the same size as Cinevate "Durus". They are built like a tank & are fine for Still lens land, I wouldn't go there with Cine glass. They are available of Ebay.
