Daniel,
What follow focus are you using?

Anyone mounting the Wooden Camera A mount without rails on the Scarlet/Epic? I don't want a shoulder mount configuration or a Matte Box, just a bare bones, DSLR like configuration for "Stealth" shooting. Is the box mountable to a left rib cage, for example, without rails? Or on a Top plate?

The A Box comes with a short bolt-on 19mm rod that you can screw into any 1/4-20 hole. Looks like this: http://www.woodencamera.com/bolt-on-19mm-rod

Shot the last 2 weeks in Japan with the A-Box mounted on the top plate / off the side - Wooden Camera sends a 19mm 'spud' with the unit so you can mount this way without using rails.

Even in a 'Bare Bones' handheld config (still playing with the set-up to find the 'best' way), there is nothing stealth about this camera… Every time I pulled it out there were people taking pics of me / with me, and asking questions… Plus it gets heavy quick.

Glen, those RED lenses are heavy man! Time to get a Nikon zoom, or some primes :)

Michael,
Did you have any trouble getting your RR Micro MB at the right height? I can't tell from your pictures if you are using something to extend the height of the matte box. We have one that we were hoping to use on ours but are a little worried that it won't be high enough.

Oh man, this thread is making me psyched. Only a few more days

Daniel, how is the Red Touch LCD mounted in your handheld rig? I can't fully make out what that arm is. Thanks!

The LCD mount is a combination of a rod to rosette attachment connected to a Dogbone B, with an accessory attachment bracket. It's very similar to the setup in the Red store. When using the clutch it puts the LCD in a really good spot and allows for moving it closer and farther away from your face. The issue I've got right now is that the standard cable is too short and the angled connection makes it difficult to plug in, so right now I'm using the Red One LCD cable which is a bit too long. That said, it's a sturdy and comfortable setup.

And Ryan that is an Arri FF1.

Scarlet #00476 "Manhattan" is starting to come together.

Just waiting for the new ET EVF mount ... and I need to look into a couple good LCD mounting solutions.

Urban Camo ... just for fun.

Sorry for the poor iPhone photos.

So does the side handle come with an optional velcro grip thing? Like with the velcro grips on most handheld cameras. I would leave that on for those run n gun situations where you just gotta hold on to the camera and make sure you don't drop it in a rush.

Nothing fancy at this point, just a little run & gun for the time being. Need to pick up a shorter XLR to run to the A-Box.

sidenote: anybody experiencing difficulty disconnecting the AC adapter lemo from the camera?

Hi scott, i also PM'D you about these questions as threads become difficult to find and follow. I'm wondering how the Rode Mic is rigged onto the camera, what accessories did you get for this setup.

Hey Zac, the mb fits perfectly on there. No height adjusting at all.

Peter, is that the DSMC assault plate for 15mm rod support?

QUICK picture of new Scarlet-based beamsplitter rig. We're anodizing all the custom hardware now - should have beauty shots of the final rig in a week.

Well, certainly more stealth than an Alexa, don't you think? :) i think overall "ignorance" and its dslr like form factor will work for this are. For something like LA and film literate towns, I can see that there's not much of a stealth advantage...

David, will there be a chance to see some of your stereo work shot on Scarlet, as well as your thoughts? I ask because I'm thinking about doing a 3D short using the Scarlets and have been curious how they perform.
