  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post Pics of your Ronin Setups

Picked them up from this guys ebay store- http://stores.ebay.com/Alvins-Cables

Really good company that will make any length cables your heart desires. I went with a 24in monitor cable and 18in power cable. The power cable that DJI sells is too think IMO. If you going to power the camera with the Base Expander then I suggest cutting off the black cable cap and folding the cable over so it does not hit the back of the gimbal. You can see how I did this in the top down photo posted above. It works pretty well to keep balance of camera centered if you put the monitor mount on the left side camera to balance the power on the right. I had much better success going this route then trying mount the monitor plug on front of camera.

I have broken three of those cables. I am using one now and I don't recommend it they are really cheap chinese crap.
Once it breaks he won't repair them or give you a refund either. One of the cables pins shifted and I had to send my monitor back to red. Cost was $450 for using these. I would love to know if anyone else has a good source for a long evf/lcd cable that isn't too overpriced.

Any flexible cable is going to be less durable, did you put a ton of stress on the cable to make it brake or did it just fall apart? If a pin shifted it sounds to me like the cable got jerked sideways.

Anyways these cables have worked great for me for the price for the past half a year or so, but I am super careful they don't get pulled on. I will report back to this thread if that changes and they suddenly fall apart on me.

Other then that there are these guys that make super expensive flexible cables, but have never tried them: https://mediablackout.net/

The Lemo connector on these cables is super cheap. The bond between the cable and the lemo connector is not durable. The nut on the back of the lemo connector never stays tight. These cables are the worst.
