Wide shot: low compression ratio. Close-up: high compression ratio. Am I right?

That's crazy, I would never choose MX over dragon, ever. But hey, that's me...

Each sensor is a personal choice, like film stock. I prefer MX with RedColor 04 over Dragon, because I can get low noise blacks and no pink orbs around bright lights in the same frame, which I still can't (yet) with Dragon, and MX color with redcolor 04 is truly wonderful now.

I also prefer the color of MX, and what it does to skin. I think many people here are aiming for that "indy film natural look", but I am not, not at all, and I am not alone in having completely other aesthetic goals in what I do than that 'Fincher Look', which I personally very much dislike (I'm not saying that's all Dragon can do, only that many people here say they love that look, and so obviously those people have sensibilities very different from mine.)

Dynamic range on Epic MX has never been a problem for me, but then again I never shoot without a grip truck, and never shoot documentary, so I have different challenges than others.

All that said...

If we all liked and did the same things it would not be very interesting.

Exactly. I also tend to absolutely love the original Mysterium sensor. I keep a Red One around for shooting that "stock" every once in a while.

And it would have to be really healthy for me to move swiftly from my current setups.
