Can't get a clear cut answer from the Singular Software or Red Giant websites.

Will PluralEyes 3 work with RED raw files in Premier Pro 6? If not is there any workarounds for syncing a two camera interview...besides doing it by hand?

No R3D support yet for Pluraleyes. I haven't done it, but I think the only way to do a batch synch is to transcode to MOV, run Pluraleyes, export an XML of your synched MOV timeline, then feed that through clipfinder where it will replace MOV files in the XML with identically named R3Ds.

Or you can just do it by hand.

So for instance importing the "quicktime wrapped" MOVs to FCP, running PluralEyes then exporting they XML to premiere?

Sort of a pain. I wish they could just update PluralEyes, but maybe they won't bother since RED isn't widely used for interviews or recording audio in general

I don't know about PluralEyes 3, but I've used earlier versions to sync Red footage in Premiere. It couldn't work directly with the R3Ds, but it automatically used AME to export the audio to a format it could work with, and spit out a timeline that synced all the R3Ds up correctly.

I use plural Eyes with R3Ds all the time as well, I'm actually still using version 2. Same thing, it works about 75% of the time flawlessly, sometimes I need to make some adjustments.

I'm using Pluraleyes 3.1 in a 5K R3D timeline with embedded audio from camera trying to sync to external field recorder and when I use the exporter for PE, it tells me all my r3d embedded audio isn't compatible. Seems like the only workaround it to transcode every fucking clip, which is why I'm using Premiere in the first place--so I can stay raw.

As I have grown tired of the timecode jam/sync drift game I have been looking at plural eyes. My goal is also to stay raw to the end. I'm trying to understand this thread. Can the plural eyes plugin work right in CS6? Even if it's only 75% of the time that would be worth the investment.

Would you mind detailing your workflow? I have a 5k FF r3d timeline in premiere and when I use the Premiere extension to connect to Pluraleyes, it tells me my footage isn't compatible. Are you using the standalone app, or the plugin?

Im using cs5.5 but i bought the software thinking it would work and also messaged them this is the response i got:

Hi Viet,
Footage from the RED cameras is not supported natively yet in PluralEyes 3.http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/all/pluraleyes/compatibility/#tabs
It is a common request and our engineers are working hard to expand and improve the formats we can work with. I'll be sure to add your input to that feature request.

Currently the only option with RED footage is to transcode into a different format like ProRes4.4.4.

Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Erik K

Sorry for the delayed response Steve. I realized I was using Pluraleyes V2, which works with R3D's no problem. If you download pluraleyes V3, you have the option to install V2 from their installer. Try that, and you'll be all set. :-)

New adobe PPro has the same ability natively in the next version....2 weeks

How does that work? I have V2 and I see no way of this working. Which version of version 2 are you on? Care to elaborate on your process?

I got the same incompatible error with plural eyes 3, to work around it
I pulled all my r3d files onto the timeline, I then unlinked
all the red video and left the audio (from the r3d clips) in place. I then exported the xml
And plural eyes synced it correctly. I reopened the timeline and then just ddragged the
r3d clips to the synced location over writing where the Audio alone was. I contacted red giant and they said
red support was on the rader for the future but couldn't give me a time frame, they also said that plural eyes 2
will work and that if you have a plural eyes 3 serial you can use it to install version 2, I think that's a nice
conselation until version 3 is updated

When you start the sync, it should launch Adobe Media Encoder and automatically convert the R3D audio to temp files that PluralEyes can use to sync. The XML it spits out has synced R3Ds though.

Hello Folks! I am having a problem maybe someone can help. I used TASCAM for the external audio source and now I want to manually sync inside REDCINE X so that i can get clean R3D files on CS6 while I edit from day 1. the problem is that I get the external audio playback in slow motion and low pitch when I select it in the audio tab inb REDCINE X.

anyone knows why? the bit rate is adjusted and it all seems fine, except the playback of the external source is DARK VADDER SLOW MOTION

I know this is a Pluraleyes forum but it's related :)

Thanks!

Alain

Chris and Steven, can you elaborate on this?

I thought Pluraleyes can't work with R3ds. I just tried it with PE3 and Pr CS6 and I can't sync because it says unspported format for the video file.
