He he. Compare that to those shots of Epic on the Arri geared head. That O'Connor looks tiny!

So if anyone of the film's crew is in here : how is the pressure ? How is the new director ? Everything according to plan ?

I would be really surprised if anyone on Pirates had time to peruse RedUser during this shoot. They have like what... 16-18 cameras on the show? (I'm sure the real number is in this thread somewhere). The DITs and techs have their hands full.

There's time... Lots of techs and stereographers ( I misspelled that)....

No, I'm not on this show... But 2U is coming... Hehehe

I think it was pretty clear after this keynote that Apple developes mobile devices (iOS) and not OSX, but then again what the hell do I know? Last rumor Steve said we'll be impressed with the new Final Cut. Being an Apple user since 1990 I can say Apple uses all of last years hardware. I mean it's hard to get a 1GB GFX card when you go windows the average is 2GB. Apple is always a year or two behind.

They're working on a 64 Bit QuickTime and Final Cut I hope. The only reason Apple has so much success with Final Cut is because of this little codec called quicktime, MPEG-4 or H.264.

Unfortunately After Effects is more or less the future, I call it the the Video PhotoShop, I mean lets be real.

Either way I was disappointed when no new Mac Pro was announced this past week. I have a 2006 1st gen Intel Mac Pro and I've already burnt out 6GB of RAM up-compressing Mark II files. I'd like to go PC but everyone and their mom cut's on Final Cut Pro.

Bye Bye Final Cut Express hello Final Cut and Final Cut Studio? Shake, Aperture and Motion need to combine is my opinion.

I'd like to go to the dark side but it's not as convenient thus I am stuck.

Boo

Well i can't be more agree with you, When they can write some code for Facetime and sell billions, why should they dedicate their programmers to an already lost battle with OSX and work on a complicated NLE and hard to add supports for the new hardware's each day? I mean imagine there's 100,000 red's in coming years, and they sell 100,000(!) FCP's to all of them for 1000$, it would be 100million dollar revenue and very less profit, pocket change for them right now. they were Apple Computers Inc, now are Apple Inc, will be Apple Mobile Inc in the coming years.

(How can i change my display name? sorry if its off topic)

What are you talking about? Apple sell more and more Macs every month, and they make up a third of Apple's revenue. Mac OS X is still a very major part of Apple's business.

FCP is worth it too because it sells the far more expensive Macs.

Well its not that related to Pirates of the Caribbean but you can wait and see, and get the next service pack packed as the new OS. mac sales are up but the growth is lower than personal computers growth in general. and as you said one third of revenue is from macs, not the profit. he thinks personal computers are trucks, do you expect toyota to work on the trucks as much as they work on the camery? of course I'm not agree with this opinion but thats the way that the dear ones are heading.

The data supports this. MAC is still the major player at Apple. Currently there is no way they will let that die. And, even the "normal Joes" are buying the higher end MACs so they won't go away any time soon either.

actually toyota makes very little money on the camry it is a loss leader for them, they make about 4 times the profit per sale on trucks...that is why they made the prius, so they could sell more trucks and still have their fleet be energy efficient. they did not mean for the prius to be anything but a means to sell more trucks, where the big big profit is...truck beds are way cheaper than back seats.

The answers to all of those questions at any point in time are most definitely
1) What pressure?
2) The new director is amazing
3) Everything always goes according to plan
