  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Picture of a Weapon

...How to hold that camera?

Yes of course but then it would mean the end of the DSMC concept.

...just my sick humor.

I wonder what the new handle looks like. ...and why is it necessary to HAVE a new one. My only gripe with the old one was that the buttons defaulted to functional!

I realize I'm hoping that the weapon will not add anything to the image, and will just be about the ergonomy. Then I will not spend 20k on weapon (from scarlet), as I like the ergonomy as it is now. And there will be plenty of used modules for sale everywhere if I need them.
Anyway I wait for NAB. I guess there will be many new cameras with crazy DR.

...looks like either the new "switchblade" part sits on top of the display or it's all one piece.

Is it just me...or does Weapon look tiny? I know it's supposed to be smaller than an Epic...but how..here you really get a sense of how compact it is...

putting my hand over my Scarlet, the Scarlet looks like the same size as this

So is this the right side that we're looking at? I'm particularly intrigued by the round-looking shape on the front right top corner.

Now that's a good teaser. It looks like the side is more like a studio camera. It's much more AC friendly allowing much more control from that side. Looks a like the side handle mixed with the switch blade.

From that picture the camera looks just a little longer than the PL Mount too.

Sorry, It is date night tonight :)

Jarred, surely you can sneak in one more night out with the gang brfore your next datenight.

C'mon, tell us more about Dragon-X, or whatever it will be named. 8K, 9K, 10K? :-)

Looks like the Weapon needs some serious cooling. Fans are out, and a jet turbine on top in stead ;-)

Every glimpse we get of this thing confuses me more. Or I guess "intrigue" is the correct word.

Wireless FF on the side? That would be cool

switchblade redesign with larger dial and screen offset to the left.

On the other Weapon pictures, it seemed they have chopped off the rear part, but here is not.
If it is the weapon it means the outputs we saw earlier (on the closeup, and the "guy trying to steal it discretly") are a module which seems weird as output are pretty basic.

Probably a new and better switchblade on a Scarlet. It reminds me of the side cheese plate from Action products btw

Jarred has mentioned that the outputs will be on a module. And there will be different modules with different outputs depending on your needs. This will keep the camera small for certain situations.

My worry is the price what do you think the price for people who got there dragon upgrade before NAB?

I have a feeling it's going to be another 10K investment... But that's just me. And that does include 1 mini mag + module, for the people coming from 1.8". This thing can't be cheap, no matter how much I wish it to be.

I won't be able to put down another $9,500, if the cost is close to that again.
