  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Picture of a Weapon

I really hope there could be a "straight" motorised ND mount, like on certain Bavarian cameras now.
I think the motion mount is a great tool. But for the work I do, I would prefer straight ND's with for instance - "no ND, ND.6, 1.2, 1.8 or whatever.."

- I shoot wide open alot and a double polarizer can sometimes give me trouble especially through car windows and such.:)

I can only imagine how many people are not buying the Alexa Mini until this camera drops at NAB. Great marketing!

Yeah, with all the brouhaha over the name inserting itself throughout the industry, the Alexa thing has been pushed back to paragraph three or in some cases... page 2.

BRILLIANT!

All I can say for now is that "WEAPON" has an incredibly sleek new Body design with more to it then we can possibly imagine from the bits seen... And I ma not just talking about the Brain... :)

An other of those times were NAB can't come soon enough!!

Did you see it?

The picture reminded me somewhat of my youth where people used to wear the Walkmans on their belt.

crazy that in 2015 we have a 6K Cinema Camera that is slightly bigger... if we wanted we could even wear it on our belts

Interesting. And we're supposedly looking at the left side of the camera, rear to the right?

Well, that looks a HELL of a lot like a place where you're supposed to insert a finger and *pull it open* - between the striped lines... agreed?

To me, this area looks like where you might insert the mini mag. Could the cutout be recessed (allowing for your fingers to get behind the media when removing it)?

He is not, it's just a coincidence. He is launching his new website on that date, and as part of that, sharing the extensive RED Dragon tests that in his words "showcase the power of this new sensor and hot it has turned this camera from the Jack of all trades to the master of all."

Sorry, Joan. This is about Weapon. Check the screen in the background.

I'm putting all my money into RED and I don't give a shit about it.

Same, Justin. He he he. Dude, if you're at NAB, I'm buying you a beer for writing this. I have said the same.

There was a time I chose to drive to RED HQ while steadily looking at my gas gauge. While at the first showroom, despite the grumbles my stomach offered, I invested in all I could at the time -- a t-shirt. :)

Now I shoot a CF DRAGON, and the lot of the other cam manufacturers can kiss my ass. Hahaha. In the nicest way possible.

Companies are born for many reasons -- profit chief among them. However, it seems we run into the largest problems when the desire for dividends trump all other concerns. RED has proven to be different. Irrespective of what I have experienced firsthand, the leadership actually cares about its customer base, and its history has more than espoused that. I have never had the pleasure of meeting a more capable and altruistic group. The RED team is awesome. And trust, I avoid speaking in superlatives.

No, I am NOT a paid spokesperson. On the contrary, I started out with a healthy dose of skepticism. Results and actions make all the difference in my world. And Jim, Jarred, Brent -- the entirety of the RED team -- have done nothing but try to create opportunities within an "industry" that has been largely closed since its inception. Jim's crazy idea has spurred a whole new economy, and that is the true measure of innovation in my mind.

Hopefully someone on the forum reads this, and my words allow them to reassess any ill-feelings regarding the upgrade program. Results and actions make all the difference in life, and it would be impossible to build this kind of fervor and fandom on a foundation of lies.

My acquisition tool and philosophy are both RED.

Eryc, I couldn't agree more, If it wasn't for RED I wouldn't be doing what I do now!

Sure hope not. It would be disappointing if RED didn't release the information broadly.
