Hellos,

I've got a few pieces I'd like to share for your REDRAY players. Two of which I'd like to share today. I won't be "giving away" all my work obviously, but material like this that I have rights to release and share will certainly be happening.

First up:

MUD - Hoggle Application

This job I just completed for The Make-Up Designory. MUD is an academy focused on beauty and special effects make-up. This particular video focuses on Niko Gonzalez and Cat Paschen who were both on this season (season 6) of SyFy's show Face Off. Niko and Cat transform Kyle Pacek into Hoggle from the film Labyrinth.

Interesting enough The Gnomon School of Visual Effects was also featured on this season of Face Off and one of our board members, Neville Page, serves as a judge on the show. I'm big into visual art, production art, VFX, SFX, and quality education. Everything here was an utter joy to work on and lines up nicely with my interests.

This was one of the early shoots with the prototype Carbon Dragon back in 2013. A lot of people have seen this piece already in various places, but I do think it's nice to have both of these together as they are along the same lines in terms of content. It's a nice look back at how far Dragon has come considering there's new technology, calibration, OLPF, and color science now. There's something nice about this look of this piece now. Something unique. I figured it's nice to show some of the old and with a bit of the new to start off :)

Camera: Red Epic Carbon Dragon (Prototype)
Format: 6K WS (2.37:1)
Glass: Schneider Cine-Xenar III Primes

Runtime: 00:04:53

FWIW, Phil sent me his It's Just Paint REDRAY package a while back and it's been one of my favorites. I'm downloading the MUD one now. :) Thanks, Phil!

Hey Phil, I think your file serving solution is overloaded. Downloading MUD and it's crawling along, says there's 1 day, 29 hours... remaining. Just FYI. lol. I'm patient, it will get here when it gets here. ;)

Nice, (this was my school in 2000 - time really does fly)

Hmm... must be a routing issue. Everything else seems snappy here. :/ Definitely something outside my system.

Restarted a couple times, didn't help. Left it going and walked away. Just came back and it's going alright and about half-way done..

I downloaded them both in a couple minutes... maybe I got in the queue before the rush.

Interesting. Likely a ghost in the machine.

Thanks Phil for hogging our network here ;)

Cant wait to load this up!

Phil both looked great, along with the shorts Red preinstalled there is a lot of good footage to show off the player and a decent 4k display.

I'd suggest Reduser add a .RED archive... but that would quickly run into a lot of storage and even more bandwidth ($$$). Maybe a '.RED Torrent' forum where people can seed their own content that they'd like to share (Torrents don't have to be evil).

Interesting. Likely a ghost in the machine.

Still fighting gremlins. Every now and then it will burst up a bit, but still says there's over 10 hours remaining and averaging 25KB/s. Ugh. Tracing seems to stall out after about 25 hops in nowhere land, looks like my stupid ISP has routing issues for this one. :(

Added the appropriate YouTube links, which are available in 4K as well though not as good as the REDRAY versions.

You should have some of us local RU's over for a night of 4K watching! It could be Phil's 4K Bash! :-) Call out for pizza, have some beers, chillax.
Maybe those that have RR Code seats could encode some of their content and we could bring some over to load onto your RedRay. Just a thought. :001_cool:

Dude, if you throw a 4k party I will get on a fuckin plane.

Edit: I'm drinkin' tonight.

You missed the last one at the ArcLight? :)

Seriously though. I'm actually working on doing something rather unique that all will be invited to. It will be out here in LA and be in 4K. Working on some logistics, creative insanity, and funding right at this moment. It's going to take me a slow cooked minute to put together, but if it all goes off without a hitch it will be beautiful.
