  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Peter Jackson Shoots with Red!!!

there is alot of buzz going around and with alot of buzz things can get confused, we can give Mike Curtis a break on this one misprint :)

No doubt...HD for Indies rocks...Mike does a good job with it...

Is there a possibility to the download the Peter Jackson Clip somewhere? I just found a small picture in the red.com store, where it says "Watch demos shot with RED ONE", but no link ...

Give us a couple of days...

The movie is not downloadable because the score is Universal's... and they won't let us post it. It's completely understandable on their part - they let us use the King Kong score for $1.

Peter's rescoring it, so it'll be up when it's ready.

edit: this has changed already... see Jim's thread on the subject

sorry, i didn't mean to rush. thanks for the great news!

Thank God they are able to post it with the original music. It would have been weird if they had to use some royalty-free hawaiian ukelele tunes to go over the dog fights. :pinch: :)

It looks like Mike @ HDforIndies still hasn't corrected his post about the Jackson/Jannard connection. Should we let him know or let it slide?

Rumour

Rumour

Peter Jackson is shooting a new movie with WWI airplanes, and this looks to be a nice little preview.

This is just a rumour, they are currently working on Dambusters & Lovely bones....Weta working on Avatar.

Jackson has a great WW1 aircraft collection based in a couple of locations not far from Wellington. They all make regular appearances at the airshows here in NZ.

The Dambuster bombs were tested at Derwent Reservoir in Derbyshire England only a few miles up the road from where I live. Apparently Jackson wants to make it as true to life as possible, so if they need a local RedOne owner operator for the movie *Cough* *Cough* :) hehe

Ah....let it slide. Mike has been working long days in the RED NAB booth all week, doing a great job teaching hordes of interested people about RED. Then after all that hard work, he has also taken the time to post blog stuff about NAB and RED up on HD for Indies. I definitely think he not only deserves some slack, but deserves a pat on the back for his hard work.

What do you do in your free time Mike? (as if you have any!)

Mike's a really good guy, and I appreciate his work...nobody ever gets all their details correct, and he is human like the rest of us...he has corrected his post...let's move on...

TheThe,

What's wrong with ukeleles? You can burn one up in half the time it takes to burn a banjo!

Hi Gibby. Loved your articles in StudioDaily.com and your comments and posts on this site. Regarding the above... I would also vote for letting it slide since Mike has shown tremenduous stamina in keeping up with everything.

But there is one small detail. He hasn't corrected it yet. And now it has spread to AintItCoolNews.com (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/32338) where they quote him directly without citation. Thousands of people read that site and are now going to get an impression of something that didn't happen... something Jim felt strong enough to come here and post a promt correction himself in this very thread (like two pages back). Remember, the major news networks have been known to pick up stories from AintItCoolNews.

RED brick road....

RED brick road....

Not alot of people realize that PJ isnt directing Dam busters....Christian Rivers has that job...but I am sure they will do a great job, especially with Stephen Fry writing it.

who knows Paul, I am sure they'll seriously consider following the RED brick road.....
