Hi everyone,

Anyone here know of any low cost monitor that be used for on set monitoring?
We just want a monitor for the director to check the framing.. color accuracy, resolution etc is not as important.

Any good suggestion?

Most HDMI capable computer monitors seem to work ok, but HDMI is picky with the cameras so check this forum for a list of ones people know works.

Definitely the HP 2408w works, per Jay A. Kelley's Birger mount videos. Do a search for others. I remember at least one Dell working too.

Well, I'm currently using the Vizio 22" 1080P LCD TV with my Nikon D90. It looks great as a TV and the resolution is there for critical focusing. I've thought about bringing it over to RED HQ to test on a RED but I haven't had the time. I got mine at Costco for about $279 or so. It was at Target as well for about $300-$330.

We find using a good computer monitor attached to a BlackMagic Design HDLink (DVI Converter) works great.
