  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Could it have been one the the Formatt filters we sell that is ND with an IR Hot Mirror built in? Our 5-filter kit includes a 1.2ND/IR.

I've also been thinkin on it...

It seems we have four possibilities

1. IR coating on the lenses themselves. Someone pointed out that this could cause bad effects by then stacking ND in front.

2. A new OLPF that blocks IR. Again, seems you could have light then bouncing around inside.

3. A miracle firmware update where they are somehow filtering out the IR digitally, I can't even imagine this being done.

4. That Jarred's Red is not using the same sensor we are using.

Which brings up an interesting point, if it's #4, then while these pictures are freakin awesome, they would not be what we could expect on our Reds with these lenses.
 
the IR thing is something fabricated by Shawn I believe.. so you will have to ask him about it.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.. we didn't use IR filters in any of the shots.

Again.. I have no idea where you guys are getting this kinda information.. we aren't making any matteboxes so it would be pretty hard to give those out to people.
 
Jarred, is your Red there using the same sensor and OLPF that our Reds have?

Who knows, maybe Jarred has already upgraded his RED to Mysterium-X just because of the lab test purposes... or I'm totally wrong like always :) :sifone: :beer:
