  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Oz the Great and Powerful

Super

Sam Raimi shot here at Raleigh Studios in Pontiac, Michigan. They have been very, very quiet since production wrapped last December. I'm super-excited to finally see this trailer released!

I don't "get" Raimi. I've pretty much hated every picture he has directed, Spidey 2 the sole exception.

This is going to be a BIG BIG movie. It looks fantastic! (duh)

Peter Deming is the DP. He also shot one of my favorite sports movies, Mystery, Alaska.

This looks interesting to me, both visually and storywise.

Okay, I wish I would have worked on this one!!

But a bigger wish would involve a part of this site, or RED's main site, that dove hard and deep into the technical sides of these films akin to the written articles of American Cinematographer.

Hell, I'll volunteer to go in and shoot interviews with the DP's and colorists on a weekly basis!

Congrats Red... I must admit though that it's too bad the whole movie isn't shot in the black and white 1.37 ratio ;-)

Creating a film which embeds the filmmaker in the history and tradition of film seems to bring out the best in these contemporary filmmakers (thinking HUGO here...).

I'm very excited to see this.

Really looking forward to seeing this one. Wizard of Oz is still one of my favorite films ever. The trailer looks awesome.
