Ladies and Gentlemen:

About 4 months ago I wrote a long post to the new incoming owners, 51-100, about some of my experiences having owned the camera for 2 months.

Within that post I talked about RED owners being part of the same team. I caught some flack from some and got some kudos from others. After 6+ months with the camera and over a hundred days on set with it not to mention the thousands of hours combing through this board, I have to reiterate, RED owners are on the same team. Moreover, this board is how we help each other be successful.

Why should I care about owner Red#:0xyz?

Because owner RED#0xyz may be on a set with you representing his camera in a multicamera shoot and you may have an issue with your camera or equipment and I can guarantee you that that owner will be the friendliest face on that set because more than likely he/she will be able to help you out.

Or

You may find yourself in owner Red#:0xyz's city, which may be far from your home city, and your HD-SDI cable may break and you have no where to turn because you can not go to Radio shack and get one, they do not carry them. guess who is going to come and help you, that's right red#:0xyz that lives in that city.

I could go on and on about the examples but the bottom line is we are each others best source of information, help, support, understanding.

here is another example, I was with a few owners a couple of days ago and one of them said, i am making up t-shirts, REDUSERS.NET EX-Wifes club, anyone want to buy one.....and we all laughed out loud...

I know Jarred re-stated the "RULES" the other day, but let me re-state the Unwritten rule, let's support each other and all help grow our business and the platform, every good day on set with a RED breeds many more for many more REDS; as the gaffer, the AC, the Art Director, the Sound guy, all tell a friend about the great experience with the camera.

Also remember we are in a collaborative business and chances are you will see, meet, work with one of us some day if you plan on being around for a while.

good luck and please PM me with any questions.

I'll give you your kudos. You're 100% correct. I've had to rely on many RED owners to answer questions and be there in a pinch, and they have yet to let me down.

And by the way, everyone from the producer on down to the PAs LOVE the RED on the feature we are currently shooting. The good will is (and will be) contagious.

Off to watch dailies...

Dan

I've noticed how a lot of people online here and in person are happy to share information, and I can't wait to hire some of you and be hired by some of you depending on the project. Red's a smart company with a smart product. It's clear that smart, helpful people who don't see life as a zero-sum game are attracted to that. Group hug? ;-)

This post couldn't have come at a better time - I'm currently in Chicago right now fresh off a weekend shoot and I needed a second camera to get the job done. Chris and Alex at Lakeview productions came to the rescue, and not only helped me tremendously on the financial side, but are two of the nicest, most helpful gentlemen I have ever worked with. I have nothing but great things to say about them and their company, and I know that being fellow RED users they understood my situation in a way that others wouldn't. We are a unique group of forward-thinking, creative individuals who have invested (and let's be honest, risked) quite a bit in this RED venture. Nothing but good can come from supporting each other and offering a hand to our fellow RED brothers and sisters when they are in need.

I know Chris is overseas at the moment and probably won't see this post, but if anyone needs a rental over in Chicago, see the guys at Lakeview - they'll do you right.

Well... totally agree with the post.. so when u guys plane to be here in italy to shoot on red I willbe glad to help you all...
btw... I have to start my first feature on the middle of may... so I guess I will ask a lot of information to all of you.. :)

Kudos here as well. I am very happy that reduser exists- I have learned so much from being here, and I really enjoy watching some of the work that everyone has been posting. I will be posting some as well very shortly.

I don't give a damn if I am considered a Redboy, redfan, fanboy-- Who gives a S--t. The bottom line is that this is a wonderful team of people!! Everyone at RED and the majority of the people who post on this forum.

I certainly hope that if someone needs any help on a shoot in South Florida, I am hoping they will look me up.

Hello Tribe!

I stumbled into this den of beasts a blind runt...When I reached out Some were willing to take me into the fold while others snareled...I fight everyday to find my place in this pack...I look so forward to getting my paws on my Red and making my mark with it.

I want to be a part of this so badly, and I want to make all you guys who have taught me so much proud of what I do when its my turn to contribute and give something of value back to this AMAZING community.

Kosmos3D-Its good sometimes to speak straight form the heart and cut through all the bullshit, because at the end of the day its just a big sandbox with a bunch of toys. You put words on what its really all about and set things straight again...Cool.

Totally agree!!!

I have supported this community since day one, even without my camera, I just believe very firmly that what you do comes back to you, always!

This community, is a family to all of us, an opportunity to not only chat about, but help about, and not just in words,
the hospitality already received and given from and to REDUSER's,
gives me that much more reasons to love this Forum.

Helping each other out and be available when possible, at competitive rates,
again helping each other out and not trying to just profit from one an other, we do all have bills to pay,
but we nonetheless must be nice to each other, as the world has suddenly become even smaller,
as this community has introduced users from all over the Globe, which have and are coming together here.

My hospitality, my house and my gear will always be, when possible, available to this Fantastic Community with great pleasure!
In the US or back home in Italy, any REDUSER will be welcome as any good friend!

Ciao

Nothing but good can come from supporting each other and offering a hand to our fellow RED brothers and sisters when they are in need.

This is so true because we all know that it's really us against them (the Filmie-eyed Zombies). We must stick together to bury them before they come back to life!:red_bandana:

Those of us in Europe almost need to heed these words even more than our cousins across the sea. We're sort of spread out and separated a little by language and so on, but for us in the UK, we can help out in France etc by jumping on a train, so we should do it if we can. I'm working on my French,,, but it's still 75% pointing and bizarre dance moves/ 25% words.

Amen!! Cheers to the brotherhood.
