Opinion: You are having trouble with focus with your 4.7" display and do a lot of handheld shooting. You can only pick one for your DSMC2 body camera: a 7" touch display or the OLED EVF. Which would you choose?

I would choose both... :)

The touch 7" is nice but its very low nits so you kind of need a EVF for the brighter days. There is potctures floating around of prototype extra bright 7" red screens... I guess those are the once we all really want.

Oddly I am with Björn here as I role mostly with the 7" and DSMC2 EVF, but if I had to 100% live off of one water source, the 7" inch is the pool I'd drink out of and just get a sunshade. Hell, I keep a black cloth to sometimes hood it to mask reflections out in the desert.

Another +1 for both lol. (Probably not what you wanted to hear though.)

However, for some actual advice, if you are planning to keep you 4.7", then buy an EVF and you can have the best(ish) of both worlds. I'd much rather have an evf and a 4.7" then a 7" AND a 4.7".

Or buy a loupe for the screen.

My EVF got stolen a while back, sense then I have a big black cloth in the camera bag and rent EVF´s when needed. To many other toys to buy before spending money on a new one even though I should. But a loupe would work good I think.

I have a 4.7" touch screen and a Bomb OLED EVF. I brought the EVF 2nd hand and it came with a Red Spinner EVF attachment all for around $1800 USD. I really like an EVF and would find it very difficult to shoot only with the 4.7" LCD. I would suggest getting the OLED Bomb or if you can afford it the newer DSMC2 OLED as I have heard that the original LCOS Bomb is not ideal for focusing. In all situations I prefer to check focus with the EVF - maybe just because I have learnt to trust it or I have older eyes that can't focus on screens so well these days?
