I am blown away. Really. I have taken some of my oldest footage (RED ONE and M sensor) and applied REDcolor2 and REDlogFilm with my newest Look... and I am speechless.

Apply the Look and adjust Shadow until you fall over dead.

I encourage all of you to try it. Please. Religious experience...

I've been working with footage that I shot in April-May 2008. Some of the stuff we shot was too dark, framed incorrectly and so on. This week, that footage has been rescued. It's truly beautiful, and means that shots that were previously too difficult to work with are now working wonderfully, giving us more editing choices. (The time it's taken to get a distribution deal has been a blessing.)

That's why I want to shoot RAW.
That's why I don't buy another camera.
I wait for my first RED Camera, the RED Scarlet Fixed 8x.
And it will be fun... and more...

This is I think extremely inspiring for newcommers and little experienced (with RED) people like me. How about making a little Download-play-around-and-see-for-your-self-package, with a bit of relevant footage, and a little tutorial? A package, that instantly demonstrates, what this (and the RED-passion) is all about?

This is why I love this company. Yes, they give and give. Yes, you can talk to the CEO. Yes, the hardware and software are awesome. And yes, these updates are free. But the thing I love the most is the freakin' CEO isn't pouring over spreadsheets, he's grading his own images and can't help but come online and tell us how buzzed he is about them. ! Now, THAT is the kind of camera company I want to be involved with.

I have been grading a ton of footage from Italy using REDcode2 and REDlog2, I am curious to try REDlogFilm. I have to say that even after three years with my RED I am still getting a buzz. In Italy I was shooting with mostly what ever light was available, and no matter the situation I was able to use RCX to make it work and usually got pretty gorgeous shots. BTW, I had a very light Red MX set up thanks to the new Red SSD module and SSD card as well as the Red clip on matt box. This shoot both made me love my Red MX even more and made me want my Epic more than ever. The lighter set up made working out of a backpack better, but the Epic would have been a dream come true.

Thanks again Jim, its a really fun ride, and it's not over.

Thanks Jim

If you have an old Red One M to spare, I'll have a look myself :coolgleamA:

The shadow adjustment really contains quite a bit of magic. Using that and redlogfilm, I graded some night footage on MX that was all available light, shot at 2000 ISO, then set it back to 320 and brought it up to look outstanding with basically no noise. Redlogfilm plus shadow plus contrast control is really the ticket.

I wonder how my 1st Epic images vil eveolve over the next few years... :-))

Have them now.

Epic brings the pure fun back to photography.

RED One made the pure luck result of photography available.

Thanks!

Along with everything I learned from Michael Cioni this week and I see there's a new Redcine-x, I am ready to blow myself away with my old footage!
