  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OK... REDCINE-X time.

maybe this a bit late but I've just tried REDCINE-X alpha 1 yesterday on MacBook Air machine.. actually I've got stunned of what I saw..
and that lead me to a huge wish.. this can be the best Editing/Grading enviroment I've ever seen and so it must simply do all other stuff that final cut/ppro does but in the way it is in REDCINE-X ..
Really amazing..
keep up the good work

Can everyone please stop asking for a Windows version? This has been covered countless times, the Windows version will happen AFTER the first version (Mac) is complete.

Until then, we are just frustrating them with the rants.

I understand they are all in good fun, and a reminder that the Windows community deserves the same tools, but this is not helping.

WINDOWS USERS HAVE REDS TOO:rant::rant:
this looks great guys!

Are you sure? I heard that was an unfounded rumor - there are still windows machines out there? ;) j/k

Going great places! Sweet to be able to try an Alpha build :)
If you still want to hear suggestions: one thing I think would be handy would be if you were able to preview the clips in the clip viewer at say double speed, maybe go from slow to fast as you mouse from left to right???
Just a thought.

Cheers,
Tehben

Hi Jim and all at RED,

Any news on this feature? Is that native Avid MXF support or is it something else???

All the best,

Tom

We're writing the MXF files directly in rocketcine now and then redcinex soon.
Direct import and doing the final tweaking to get it ready for release.

Yup.. Deanan is wrapping it up and then it will be merged to REDCINE-X hopefully later next month.

What about OpenEXR export?
Will this be something to be implemented by a third party?

considering the entire post production 3D/ vfx world runs on non mac computers...
id say there are more computers not running macs in the film world then macs.

A bit later but yes...

Can we put in a request now while it's still very embryonic for overbrights and negative blacks to be maintained in EXRs (unclamped) after color processing.
