  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OK... REDCINE-X time.

Scott, yes, been asked and answered many times. They need to develop the Mac version before it can be ported.

Sure would be nice if people took the time to read these threads (at least the last 5 pages or so, before taking the time to post and wait for an answer. Innocent or not, its mind boggling really how many times that has been asked (and addressed) in this thread.

sigh, I so give up. Thanks for taking over for me Jim.

Redcine-X and Decklink

Redcine-X and Decklink

He he. I was just fiddling with Redcine-X and wondering why the audio was so far out of sync. Then it hit me. I'm monitoring audio with my Decklink HD Extreme 3! So, I tried sliding the Redcine-X preview window over onto the Decklink extended desktop and it played. Well, sorta.:blushing: It's a bit jumpy but way cool. R3Ds straight out to hardware it ain't supposed to go to. BTW, the sync got worse with the picture on the Decklink...

I can't seem to get a 1/1 size image using the size scaler top right of the main preview window? It only gives me 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 options. This is on a MacBook Pro 15" which has no issue showing 1/1 using the regular RedCine.

Thx.

Paul

Paul,

There isn't a 1/1 size option (in the current version)--not on mine at least.

In the preview window, you are correct. However, check out the detail window- twirl down the arrow and you'll see a 1/1 window, and a green box will appear in the preview window showing you what part of the image you are viewing.

I completely missed that while playing with RCX for three days. Probably because i'm on my macbook and it was just hidden. I had to go to the top and look under window and uncheck the detail option and then recheck it to see it appear for the first time on my screen....very nice to see that again.

Yep, I missed the detail window too for the first day I was playing with it on my MBP. It wasn't until someone mentioned missing it in this thread that i realized that it was actually there. But like you every time I launch RCX I have to uncheck and recheck the detail window for it to show up.

the detail window when it is open slows things down a bit right now.. so its best for it to be closed when you dont need it open :)

yeah wont work on the 15's... 1920x1080 resolution monitors and above for now.. sorry man.

Currently or ever?

REDCINE-X and REDRocket?

REDCINE-X and REDRocket?

Jim or Jarred,

In the current REDCINE-X build the rocket button says that REDRocket is available, but I can't get any output via HD-SDI (haven't tried DVI). Is this just not enabled yet or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Any chance of getting the toggle grade function from redcine (f key) into redcine-x? I like looking at the raw view to see everything i captured/clipped.

As mentioned... many features on the way.

Just not there yet.. still alot of work to do on REDCINE-X ( hence the alpha )..

... Hopefully by Monday we will have another Alpha to clean up some of the remaining bigger bugs. Things will go dark for a few weeks after that last Alpha as the guys re-tool for the first Beta.

RocketCine development will still continue during that time though, expect some pretty cool things from Deanan on that front.
