Back when Scarlet went online in 2011, I was one of the first to push the button after some serious refresh madness ;o)
Unfortunately I was one of the few that opted for the Titanium Canon mount and as a result had to wait for several months watching peeps getting theirs delivered (with the other mounts), ending up getting mine in April 2012 with a serial of 1000+
I do not care about serials - but I sure hope all the Ti-Canon "mounters" from the original batch will get some love this time and get ours upgraded early...

Scarlet X to Scarlet-D.
Really not sure I've made the right choice but I love low light shooting.

Interesting to see that only about 30% of those participating in the poll have taken the time to post details, with the majority of those going Epic-X. Also interesting to see that Scarlet D and Epic X upgrade paths are almost dead even after week 1.

What does all this mean? Nothing! But the split will probably be more defined once we actually get to see proper Dragon footage.

Reminder to post the actual date and time unless you don't mind being on the bottom of a list!

I'm setting a date of May 11 to close updates on order times. Most people that are upgrading should have their minds made up by then.
 
I'm leaning toward the Epic upgrade more than the Scarlet-D but I'm intrigued at the cutoff time for the upgrade to Epic that RED will set. Jarred said there would be no deadline for the Scarlet to Scarlet-D upgrade (if I remember correctly) but I think (maybe I'm mistaken) that he said there would be window for the epic upgrade.
 
I don't exactly know why, but I've always found Epic footage much cleaner than my Scarlet footage. Maybe it has to do with sensor crop. I've also noticed a significantly cleaner image from my Scarlet when shooting in 5k. Perhaps recording from a cropped sensor does something. Whatever the case, I wanted an Epic from day one but couldn't afford it right away. Having a Scarlet for a solid year has helped me significantly. Now I can finally have my Epic.
 
No worries, Steven. Most Dragon upgraders aren't bothering to post so you are ahead of the game.

Last night I shot some hummingbirds at 1K WS 120fps wide open on my fastest lens and all I could think was 'I could sure go for some 4K and a tighter shutter.'

Let's hope this happens sooner than we all expect!

I would certainly like to find out if you're right about that.
 
I'm still waiting to make an affirmative decision. I think seeing some dragon footage at 5K is going to be a big determining factor on which path I take. I'd like to see some low light tests of Dragon. I want to see how the dynamic range performs. I'd also like to know what the max fps will be at 4K, all we know is 60fps at 5K but how many fps at 4K? I'd like to know, and I'd like to see. I'd much rather make an informed purchase decision than rush for a higher que on the waiting list. I figure there's more time to wait on dragon because we may not have immediate support in CS6, or DaVinci, in which case I'd rather shoot with my Scarlet as is.
 
I am eager to get the upgrade to Epic, i have a fair amount of MMA gigs booked, and the HFR will come in really handy. Spoke with my UK BS Rep, and he has said no news yet as to when it will all happen. Hopefully soon, i am moving to Aberdeenshire in Scotland in 5 months time, so hopefully before then....
