Jarred just posted it and I can now talk about testing it a few weeks back.

But here it is. The new RF to PL Mount and she's a beauty. This is available for both Raptor and Komodo.

Strong, Shimmable, Hybrid Titanium construction (good for wild weather), and yes 4 tabs when it's tricky to get at that locking collar.

But the absolute banger here is this mount transmits Cooke /i Data to the camera body. For those of us that's important for, it's been a missing link up until now.

Brief instructions on mounting it to the camera. Secure the mount in the RF Mount like you're mounting a lens, turn until the registration pin connects, lock the collar. Then take the appropriate mounting hardware and secure it to your camera body. Shim if needed.

At the body of that page there's a small note regarding the upcoming E-ND Mount coming soon as well. Will be very similar, but obviously with some added joy.

This looks great, really robust!

I have the Komodo, and I’ve finally standardized on a Bright Tangerine nato rail cage (which pairs with a ring to stabilize the metabones PL mount). Which pieces of the cage that comes with this are necessary for stabilizing it? Wondering if I’d need to switch out the full cage just to use this mount.

this look really well thought through..

PS LPL with I/data is unlikely but what we need!

Hearing rumors, but nothing solid. But yes, I agree. At the moment that is mainly for Arri Signature Primes, Zooms, and Cooke Elsie glass. But I suspect more LPL glass will exist down the line and make it even more relevant.

Komodo being smaller than Raptor and not having the bolt array up top and bottom does require side ribs which are included with the kit. There's a picture of them on the landing page I posted.

Also on that page is a detail shot of the rear of the adapter, which shows how very different it is versus other things with the electronics, titanium and likely steel, and there's a bit of the flocking material that's visible there inside the throat.

Any specs on the holes / threads for the mounting hardware? To the eye, looks similar to the the Canon R .71x to Ef adapter, on the bottom at least…

Will there be an ef version? I know ef is being phased out but I'm sure there are still alot of people who have ef especially wildlife filmmakers.

Rather than start a new thread, I’ll ask here. Is there a weight limit spec to this or similar mount adapters? I’d like to run my DZO 20-55 without a lens support (it weighs 3.35 pounds) as using a vertical rig with rods isn’t ideal.

If I can, am I taking a risk? Should I avoid putting a clamp-on matte box on the front?

I would say that lens is easy mode for a mount like this. I put a Fujinon Premista 80-250 on there, which is significantly longer and heavier. Those lightweight zooms will be fine.

On thing to note is the longer the lens and more weight you put on the front, it certainly could be prone to vibration when operating, but I own that combo, don't think it's going to be an issue really.

Thanks! I had a feeling this would be the case, but I appreciate the confirmation.
