Nice shooting, guys!

@ Andrew and Brad.. besides your images, I've been delighted to have learned that Burbank does some very interesting skies (clouds) and light! Never would have guessed because of it being "L.A." I guess the mountain range layout does the enabling? It's a pretty limited radius, but very painterly more often than I'd expect. I live in Eagle Rock.. not the same sky!

Was this photo taken with a medium/large format camera?
What about the lighting? Looks like something incredibly soft, perhaps double softned HMI or the likes.

It was taken with a Canon 40D; avaible light reflected from a large white wall across the street from the window in front of the subject. This was shot at 1/13 sec, f.6.3, ISO400 with the camera firing at 6.5fps. The secret to getting great shots with the 40D in low available light, stopped-down, is the fast frame rate. You end up with lots and lots of blurred shots, but one of them is nearly always razor-sharp. It's a great camera with incredible speed for its price point.

Here is a link to my flikr account. Critique if you like. I have been shooting pictures for around two months.

I know this is a DSLR thread but these are all shot with a 70's era Nikon Ftn and a Mimiya C330 TLR Medium Format cam.

Alps, this afternoon, through the car windshield.

Hrvoje, wow, to have such scenery in my back yard.... I'm jealous!

Here's a photo I took yesterday evening whilst shooting from a highrise in Tokyo (taken on my Canon 7D with EF70-200 f/2.8L IS USM):
