Official Post Your DSLR Still Photography Thread

Nothing fancy, but I like this picture:

tree.jpg

Heh, this is entertaining.

Both shot with my Grandfather's Zenit ET. First with a 58mm f2.0 Helios(my other grandfather gave it to me) and ilford 400 film. The second was shot with iso 3200 b&W film on a sunny snowy day almost straight into the sun with a pola on it. The lens is a 70-200 f4.5 I got off Ebay for 30$.

It's funny - I've always had the ancient Zenit at home, and I've always liked photography, but I only started shooting Zenit after I got my first DSLR and now I haven't touched the DSLR for serious shooting for years, while the 25+ y/o Zenit and 58mm f2.0 lens that are worth less than the roll of Ilford I usually put in there give me results that I like.

Gawd! For some reason they really look like shit.

Nice one Tom, so that's where crop circles come from. With the wet winter the vegetation must be doing great. Wildflower blooms are really in stride this year. Enjoy springtime in the desert!

The wind causes the plant to create patterns around itself.

Kalani, they're all great images, but this one in particular really stands out for me:

Beautiful!

a few more...

All of these were shot on my Mamiya M645 with various stocks.

An alley in near Downtown Seattle
80mm, f/2.8, ISO400, Kodak Ektar (if I remember correctly...)
I like this stock because it is B&W film that uses the C-41 color process. It has has a very organic, almost sepia tone to it.

I used to love Ilford XP1 C-41 monochrome too. More cool/neutral than Ektar, but really produced beautiful skin tones.
