Perry, beautiful images and great location! Reminds me of my trip to beautiful Mongolia just before the Beijing Olympics in 2008:

Beautiful Tom! I've got a cool place here in Japan picked out that I'd like to do a timelapse in that I hope will show the Milky Way as gorgeously as your photo does! Fingers crossed it's clear skies in September when I go there....

Cheers,

Paul

I can't wait to see it in motion. That Camblock rig is amazing.

For those who might be interested, here is a behind-the-scenes photo of our camBLOCK timelapse dolly setup for that particular shot at Bristlecone. Photo was taken by my friend Shawn Reeder.

Here is some of my recent automotive photography. It was shot on film so technically it does not belong in this thread but I thought I would post it anyways.

These shots were taken with a 1976 Nikon Ftn with a Nikon 28mm lens, using Ilford ASA400 B/W, and Kodak Porta 160 VC color neg.

I do not normally photoshop my pictures but the cars did not really pop from the background so I colored a few of the b/w shots. Let me know what you think. I have been a photographer for about a year and I have never shot digital but I will need to switch eventually because it is becoming too expensive to shoot film.

Kite beach Maui with my new/used Yashica/Contax 120-600mm

Kalani, thats a great shot! Contax lenses are among the best ever made. I almost purchased a used Contax a while back (the one with the ceramic base) but it was a little out of my price range. What camera did you have the lens mounted on?

Storm in a Teacup

Well its been a super long time since I was last here, and on Reduser in general. Lots of things happened, like my new high speed trigger system.

Spent most of the last 2 weeks in Hawaii...

The dive master on the boat for one of our dives had a crappy underwater housing. I played with it a bit and it passed an empty run, so... I stuck my NEX-5 compact mirrorless in there with the 16mm f2.8 pancake lens. Took it down to about 70ft. Light was so-so and we had some murky water that afternoon. Image is pretty noisy, I had to pull it up a lot. Couldn't get the camera any closer to the front port, held it in place with a velcro strap as it was. But I kinda like the uneven vignette...

Not much video, just a few family videos I shot with the NEX. Got a bunch of great stills though, I'm still going through them. Don't know how much I'll post, most of them are family, kids, etc..

Hey Jeff, a black an white contrasty pass on that would go down a treat, add a touch of noise and off you go.

Cheers,
Mark.
