  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD HOTLINK + HOT TAP + HOTBOX R/S WIFI for RED DSMC cameras

*** If your HOTLINK was shipped after November 3rd - it will have a factory default password - 12345678

I try to upgrade my Hot Link from this address 10.10.100.254/iweb.html
but only I get page don't found, Mark can you help me whit this issue.

Make sure you connect to the hotlink via wifi first, then put that up address into the web address bar.
 
The Hotlink and Fool Control does away for the need for a Switchblade?

Is there anything I`d feel I`m missing if I don't run a switchblade?

The big advantage of the Switchblade is simply having buttons and a simple settings UI to adjust a setting without getting to the touchscreen. WIFI can have it's issues and challenges - it works great 95% of the time - and then - when you feel really confident - in that 5% of the time - suddenly there's an issue connecting or whatever - the best "back up" you can have for camera control is simple buttons with a simple UI screen.

Once you start using Foolcontrol - it's REALLY hard to use a DSMC camera without it again - BUT - if I ask 10 operators and camera assistants if they want a Switchblade on the camera - all 10 of them ask me "what's that?" - and then if I show it to them - and then they all say "we really gotta have that".

Just have to say after a couple days in Costa Rica shooting and pulling focus with FC/Hotlink and Canon lenses (some lenses work better than others) I'm loving it and seeing the future. I believe this is just the beginning. I think we will see motorized cine glass (maybe Canon will be first) and sophisticated accessories develop to make follow focus with motors and boxes strapped to our camera bodies a thing of the past. A big thumbs up for Fool Control, I love it more every time I use it and the Hotlink pretty much lives on my camera full time.
 
Agreed. I start messin with curves on the iPad and it's like a magic trick to everyone. Playback also, that's a biggie, it's so awesome for playback. Love how it lists everything. The client even walked over and selected a clip from the iPad today for playback, ha. Really can't say enough good things.

Assuming the final QC round goes well - small first round of HOTBOXs should ship one week from today - your included. With another batch a week or so later that would fill all existing orders.

All current HOTBOX orders should ship in December.

VERY sorry it took so much longer than I expected. But made a lot of internal improvements - and set ourselves up to make more faster.

I'm gonna find a way to reward the early guys like you who had to wait so long by giving a nice discount on the next product coming from us - HOTSWAP - which, when combined with HOTBOX or HOTTAP is freekin' awesome.

But I'm not going to show the new stuff unit I have some in boxes ready to ship :)
 
Hotswap, hmm, some kind of signal distro?

HOT LINK DO NOT POWER

Hi Mark I try to use my Hot Link today but I don't get the blue LED power indicator, I connected the Hot Link to my Epic Dragon via +1 Adaptor Module, also I try connect with P-Tap to lemon and also to my Mac book pro via USB but no blue led power indicator but I get a message from my laptop.

Last Saturday was working OK whit the same camera.

Any possible solution or diagnostic ?

try powering through the micro usb too.
