  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Odesza Music Video Shot on RED Dragon and Cooke Anamorphics

Fantastic work. I first heard this song in the ending of the piece entitled Denali (also shot on RED) helmed by Ben Knight. I would love to see any BTS photos you might be able to share on this. Again, you really nailed it.

Used a set of Diopters to achieve close focus. The cooke anas won't get you close enough. Didn't have the new macro offering though I can't wait to play with it!

I don't have many BTS shots (it was an insanely busy shoot so I didn't have much time!) but I'll see what I can dig up from other people.

Which prime did you select for your close-ups with diopters, Joel?

I once asked the late, great Vilmos Zsigmond and he said he usually chose a Panavision C series 40 and 50mm for closeups.

Ah, apologies. I was primarily using the 50mm with diopters for the closeups. I love the balance between shape and compression of the image that it strikes.
