  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

November 3rd...

If you have the money, you can do what you want with it. Its all relative.

You hate the mine is bigger than yours. That's cool.

I hate it when I'm trying to find out any updates on a product I'm interested in and random folks keep constantly bringing up other non relevant products.

I want Red information, so I come to a Red forum. If I wanted other product information, I would be on "other products" forums.

Of course its about content and story telling, no one is disagreeing. This is not a content and story telling forum. Its a Red forum.

No disrespect to anyone, I just don't see the point of coming to a Red forum to discuss other products. Go to DVXuser, not Reduser.

Yup, let's have even a more narrow view of the world without those "random folks" interrupting our circle jerk of predictions. Oh and, ya gotta love that new iPhone . . . shoots stabilized 1080P!

Not so random Eston, that is why we have red, because I and others compared years ago and dared to dream of better made digital cinema cameras, and Jim dared to dream with us about his own :) . It is all relative, what people are doing in the industry compared to what Red is doing and could do. If 4k is out there in consumer then it would be good to see it here.

Plus, if you expecting "information" here, you might be disappointed, that is not really how it works around here. You get drips of preview information, mainly just search for the red team button in the top right of posts, that will take you to the next red team member post, likely the only significantly relevant new information. Most of the stuff here is just discussion and speculation.

I thought this was a thread about a Scarlet anouncement and occasionally The Red team would drop little hints for us to chew on until the the actual day.

But hey, any one can post what ever they want.

Count how many times members of the Red Team have informed us of something or the other.

Clearly they like giving us hints.

Which are greatly appreciated until we get the final announcement.

Sorry, I as wondering where the extra unused /quote came from in Bart's message. Have changed it. We 'are' talking about what other vegetarian diners are doing, and what this one could be doing next. Feedback and reflection. If this was a thread of only announcement posting, nobody would be posting until November 3rd.

So by random association, RED, 3rd Nov and “big dogs”…hmmm

Well those RED “Ruskies” launched the first living being into space, a dog by the name of Laika Sputnik-2, (arguably the first Cosmonaut) on Nov 3rd 1957. Arguably one of the most terrifying moments in US and western history was the launch of Sputnik-1 (by the Russians). The idea that the Americans were asleep at the wheel, while their captive German rocket scientists were practically turning into alcoholics twiddling their thumbs in the New Mexico dessert… and then put to work almost a decade late. Meanwhile the Russians launched Sputnik 1 into orbit the first artificial satellite. So to the Americans, this was pure dread that you could tune into Sputnik on your AM radio and hear it going, “beep beep beep beep beep beep…”. It was believed if you controlled space then in terms of nuclear capability then you had the ultimate sword of Damocles in orbit to hang over everyone’s head .

Big dog, says Canon announces "something really important to Hollywood"

So Canon IS on the menu.

Changes to Scarlet is on the menu (of course)

“You get to compare RED’s latest directly with the newest from one of the “big dogs” in the industry”.

“You get to see the future”…

Naturally speculative comparison with future RED “scarlety” offering with speculative (cinematic) Cannon is invited…(It's all fair game I think). I really don’t have any firm sense of what Canon will be trying to release or announce Nov 3rd.

So maybe Nov 3rd, will also be pretty frightening day for Cannon much like the Launch of Sputnik, then we find out who has been asleep at the wheel.

[Arguably October is space history month as the space age began October 4th 1957 with launch of Sputnik 1....maybe we get to see a Scarlet peering from space in the not too distant future]
 
Total long shot.... but did anyone consider that perhaps RED and Canon are releasing something together? Maybe a joint product? Canon lens... RED body?

Just thinking out loud. In any case, Nov 3 will be interesting to say the least.

That would hardly be consistent with Jim's "head to head" comment regarding the Canon announcement.

Touche' LOL!

I know I talk a lot of mess sometimes, just trying to keep our minds occupied until Nov. 3rd.

At least we managed to knock down a few more days!
For what its worth I ordered a steak sandwich to go today and when I got home it was a salad.
I was going to whine, but I said "Oh well I need the fiber"!

That is the problem Eston, I have to keep coming back to catch up what is being said in the threads incase something was said in Red. A blog of leaked information and linked posts for people to discuss , would be easier. Whine, whine, ... Red Red whine (and you would think I could remember the rest of the song for the joke ;) , Jim will know it).
