the scarlet fixed looks beautiful. good job

I'm all for RED's "industrial" design ethic, but the Scarlet fixed looks about as comfortable to hold as a stageweight. Am I missing something here? I realise there are handle options and side modules, but isn't the fixed meant to be complete in some way? Including the whole body?

Someone put me straight on this..

A Cam should be mounted to a Tripod or another device to carry it. For Handheld that would be Handles. Or the RedGunner. That's how i get it at least...

Any dimensions (size, weight, etc)? Presumable smaller and lighter than EPIC but nothing yet...

Ah, now I see! The Fixed Scarlet is longer than the one with the Lens-mount. That's probably where the battery goes, right?

What 's that "Pro" Redmote? Is the 2sec boot time achieved (instant on)?
Photos of the complete fixed kit? Please!

Will the fixed scarlet package have audio capabilities (without a AV module)?

Yes, each of the Scarlet (and EPIC) brains include 2 independent channels of microphone level analog audio input digitized to 24-bit 48KHz.

These are happy times. Im in post on a RED One shot Music Video I directed and now I'm looking at specs/news/pics of my next camera purchase. In between all my questions about release order and Redray/cinema compatability I forgot one very important thing:

Thank you Red. Thank you Jim, Jarred, Graeme, Ted, Brent and everyone else.

Thanks, any recommendations? What mic would you use? (I'm going to wait to get the pro I/O until the S35 is released.)

Sad news. Now Scarlet fixed-lens is completely unaffordable for me! Nice idea to increase the cost by over 25% in this crap economy. Oh well, now I can safely move on without having to wonder if I might be able to afford one. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant camera, it's just not one I (and thousands of others) will be able to afford. Looks like students and low budget filmmakers (NOT PROS) will carry on Red-free. If you're a professional filmmaker (i.e. you make money with your films) you need not reply. I'm addressing those of us without deep pockets to afford such gear. Sad times indeed. Perhaps some day Jim will get back to that camera for the 'soccer moms' (i.e 'the rest of us').
