Hi Jarred,
What are the width (Front Diameter) of those mini-primes? Also what is the minimum width of the scarlet? I'm thinking stereoscopic use. Everything looks great. Well done to those at Red working their butts off on 18 hour days! We appreciate it.
Cheers
Paul

The fixed scarlet seems to be the deal of the century...

4750 For the Fix Scarlet...
Break that down into
2750 for the brain
500 for the SCF Module
550 for the redmote
800 for the LCD
which means the lens and battery/charge are 150 bucks...

Thanks for the update. Red's hardwork seems to be paying off.
Across Japan Nikon and Canon execs are probably shitting themselves.

But how is the battery then attached to the brain? I thought the batteries go either into the handle or into the battery module? Can someone explain that please?

All in all it looks all really amazing. I can't wait to see them delivered and used. Or to hear reports from the beta-program.

$4750 for everything that is included is pretty awesome.

Hope to see some details for the lens on the fixed model.

prices are nice, features too.
For the fixed scarlet you're basically getting the lens for free compared to the interchangeable version.

There are going to be a lot of people buying these when they get to know about it. Maybe not the soccer moms, but it ain't out of reach.

What plans does RED have for NAB? Will we be able to touch and play a Tattoo? I would love to get a little hands on time with some of the accessories and see what's what.

Will the fixed scarlet package have audio capabilities (without a AV module)?

I'm all for RED's "industrial" design ethic, but the Scarlet fixed looks about as comfortable to hold as a stageweight. Am I missing something here? I realise there are handle options and side modules, but isn't the fixed meant to be complete in some way? Including the whole body?

Someone put me straight on this..

Looks like it'll be a while before we get any direct answers to the 1000's of questions we're asking (prove me wrong Jarred/Jim!).

The most pressing in my mind is the Scarlet shipping order (i.e, waiting list beased on RED 1 ownership, a free for all or what?)

Looks like Canon will have another great 2010. Too little , too late Red...
$5K for 3K in 2011 (let's be realistic) just doesn't have the same ring anymore...

Looks like a great rental however...

I can't agree. Sooner would be nice but this is very competitive pricing. The only thing that strikes me as overpriced is the RED Matte box, but I have a down on matte boxes anyway...I'm sure there will be affordable 3rd party rail/follow focus systems for the RED primes, and it may not even be necessary with the Fixed lens.

Certainly, the competition will have increased in 6 months time, but the $5k fixed lens package still sounds like a winner.

Sorry guys be back shortly to answer some questions... :)

So, what is #21? I'm sure I want it, whatever it is...

Oh, and the HDR stills mode is pretty fabdabulous. Why is no one commenting on it?
