build 16

build 16

Hey guys...after testing one of the four reds on our production using build 16 for the past ten days (a professional shoot for a nat geo documentary) we are now ALL IN on build 16......left 15 in the dust. So we've done some extensive testing and i have to disagree with a few of you guys about using build 16 on a pro shoot. Been working great for us and far better results, a lot less codec crashes than good old build 15.

....for what it's worth. So you might want to lighten up on the heavy hits to those using build 16 on a pro shoot. I think problems can happen with ANY BUILD. I've have found that you just have to work around them. And that's where critical adaptation comes in as a camera operator with Red at the at this time and space.

With the kind of projects I am working with, the risk is too great.

I was serious about high profile projects currently under NDA(s).

I hope RED will stamped it RELEASED soon.

P. S. I love RED and this camera, but I will not push it to the bleeding edge.
There is too much at stake.
Perception is reality in our world, I will not let people perceived RED as bad technology.
Beta is for testing only in my opinion. My clients depends on me to make the right choices.

Well if they are going to close it, I just been busy for 20 min to read to this whole thread and I just want to thank Bodhi, Zakaree, Tekcin, Matthew W. Phillips, Ruairi Robinson, Shawn Booth and offcourse rgdfilmsRED with his "I Like soup" comment.
