I must be doing something wrong here.. All I see is a white screen with a blue Q with a test tube in the center.

Hi Unwounded,

OK I waited five minutes and still nada. lol Thanks though.

Chuck

Brook,

I don't have a disc. I think...

That is, save it to your computer. If you're on a peecee, right-click the link and save it to your disk. Let it finish downloading and then double-click on the video file [wherever you save it]. On a Mac, hold [Option] and click on the link. It'll download to your desktop... just double-click on it there.

I did the MAC option click thing and it showed that I was downloading a 293MB file and that it would take 15 min. So I cancaled that as I think my roomy would not like that.

I wasn't kidding about the waiting for it comment......Literally i opened up the window then surfed the web for a little bit and then a little while later I heard the opeing music swell. presto.

Thanks anyway guys. I think this is an old computer. it says it is a G4 at 800 mhz. with 1.25 GB SDRAM

I did not want to tie up his availble storage space.

So what's the answer to this gamma problem? I am on a PC and it is driving me crazy.

I went into the Quicktime player controls and color corrected a bit and then it popped.

What format gives the most accurate rendition?

Aloha,

Keith

I can't find any problem. Everything is smooth (though on VLC is darker and with no sound :clown2:), clear and clean over here. Actually, more than ever. This time runs like any trailer downloaded from hollywood, shot in 35mm. :) Good work guys, especially to who did the conversion. I suggest every upcoming RED ONE footage (popping up in weeks) may follow this method going with 1K first wherever you go after... Not all can playback 2K or 4K :watsup: on their own laptop on the kitchen or bathroom... LOL

No confusions at all! LMAO

Open it in VLC . It's a lot more accurate (I think)

I wish there was some way to change the gamma in Quicktime... VLC won't play the sound (but it looks great!)

Well, Stephen (Gentle? :huh: :unsure:) I hope one day you may pay more attention to my name from anywhere...than you probably would do if mine was Jarred, for instance. :)

Did you actually read my post? Or don't you care about my hassle with the VLC and you don't give your magical tip on your method in order to put the player working properly... :holloween:

Keith, go with the Media Player Classic. It works fine!

EDIT -- Just joking! It just goes darker, not so big deal! Why doesn't the VLC play the sound? Anyone can explain me the mystery?

Emanuel, you sure love to delete posts! :)
Did you think that only VLC had hassles, Brook? :) The Jelsoft software (reduser.net and dvxuser.com php provider) or my browsers (??!) doesn't/don't allow me to edit my posts as my wish. Sometimes yes, sometimes don't.

Do Apples trailers look the same on both pc and mac? have they placed an extra tag in their QT's maybe? :-/

Yeah I'm not sure how they manage it. They might just have been compressed for a "middle denominator"--a bit bright on PCs and a bit dark on Macs. I don't know. But it always looks ok.

Quicktime programmers claim it's a problem with directDraw. *Cough* bullshit *cough* yeah because nobody else is able to tackle the burden of coding:

Code:
Codec = GetFileCodec "C:\H264file.mov"
if Codec == 'H264 then
(
[INDENT]Apply f*($#ing gamma correction[/INDENT]
)
else
(
[INDENT]Don't apply F*#)$*@ing gamma correction[/INDENT]
)

Uncompressed, Tiff and JPEG quicktimes exhibit no problems at all. But every single other compression scheme I've used with quicktime goes to hell.

Speaking of which... REDCode is going to decode properly... right?

It's just a giant prank Jarred's playing on you. :wink:
Word. Be sure of that! Bad boy. ;-) BTW, I hope you can increase my PM box on dvxuser.com higher than the 500 messages store. And please chief, don't ask me to delete no one of the messages there. I have true jewels stored. BTW part II, follow my last contribution:

I already have the Isaac's approval! You see, you can't beat me no matters how much new RED ONE footage you'll post... :bleh:
