Hey guys,
Vimeo Link ---> http://vimeo.com/37193351
Here are some grabs of my new short film I directed shooting with my Scarlet-X with the Zeiss CP.2 50mm
All still were grabbed from our grade in Davinci Resolve. It's my, and my dp's, first time using Resolve on a project, so we are trying to learn everything about it as quick as we can.
Here are some grabs.

BIIIIIIG thanks to Aj Aguirre! He rented me out his Side Handle without question. Very very nice and trustworthy fellow.
Im in a film program at a University in Texas, and we were given 8 short films to do this semester, so if you guys know what it's like in college, 8 films is a very very very hefty load, so our films have to be short and sweet.
We came up with this idea, not too original, but had to cast it, scout locations, and basically plan everything out in 4 days, shoot in 2, get a final cut done in 3, send it to the sound person for that, do all the post vfx and color done, then put it all together and view it.
It's a very tough challenge, especially with other classes, but it's fun.
The film will be up in 5 days!
Now, onto the technical aspect of everything.
Im extremely happy with the way the footage turned out. Sometimes when im shooting I always get scared about underexposing and overexposing and how everything will cut, but I left it to my dp and just focused on the actors and was happy.
The highlights feel so natural. They don't hurt my eyes, but they are rather pleasing at times.
My only complaint was the life of the Redvolts. I guess I just kind of overlooked every little bit of information about them and their life expectancy. I knew it would only be about 25-30 minutes, but it never really sank in until I was out there shooting. We would be setting up our composition and trying to get everything just right to begin shooting, and our first RV would be at 50%.
Let me remind you we were 30 minutes away from power in the middle of no where with 6 Redvolts. I love the light weight-ness about them, but I will definitely be buying some Bricks and an adapter plate. I mentioned it before, but ill mention it again, AJ Aguirre really came through with the renting me the side handle. Very generous guy and I wouldn't hesitate to return the favor in a second.
All in all the shoot went well! I only had 1 problem with the camera. The Redvolt was at about 15%, and it shut down while we were in playback watching a clip.
We dumped the footage after that, formatted the card and tested a shot out to see if it damaged anything, and it didn't. So 1 little bug.
If you have any questions, or if you would like the original r3d files, just say so and I will link them!
Have a nice day guys!
Edit** Also, any tips with Resolve would be appreciated!
