NEW GROUP BUY: MICROREMOTE WIRELESS FOLLOW FOCUS

Fury is in as well.

Gotta have 50 now...

Thank you very much

Fury

Made my purchase this morning.
Any word on how many have been ordered? Are we past 50?

Playing devil's advocate: If we don't quite reach 50 people is RedRock really going to turn down $130,000+ in sales?

Also, if you don't typically make large international purchases on your credit card, CALL your CC company before you place your order.

I'm certain we have reached 50. No official word yet, but, by my count, we are there.

We've gotten a few requests from people asking if they could finish their orders this weekend so the coupon code will remain active until Sunday night at Midnight.

Correct on both accounts Mike. The drive gear can be swapped to either side quickly and tool-lessly.

Cheers,

Loren Simons

Loren,

got some follow up questions, hopefully u can answer them before midnight.... ;-)

I checked out the micro remote FF today in person... I was not able to confirm what you stated.

Regarding my initial 2 questions (that you replied to):

1.) the clamp that holds the motor does not take 19mm rods, it takes 15mm... if it does, you would have to rip it wide open (and possibly break it) and then - besides other issues - the screw would not be long enough to tighten the clamp to the rod... I assume there is a separate 19mm clamp to use on 19mm rods ?! Please confirm after you have checked !

2.) when you loosen the screw on the clamp u can slide off the motor part, but u cannot get the clamp off the rod easily (to re-position it on the other side), u have to slide it off the rod, which is obviously what we all want to avoid since we're using matte boxes... that was the reason for my question. This could be solved by getting a duplicate clamp / shoe for the rod on the other side, u could then re-position the motor pretty fast, IF these clamp / shoes are available for purchase.... (?)

Additional questions:

3.) In the second video (Update NAB 2012) on the storefront for the remote FF (http://store.redrockmicro.com/microremote), from 6:03 on the guy explains there's a 4th way to control the FF... the handwheel knob (hardwired to the base station) with the whip, which kinda emulates a traditional, manual FF... what's a direct link to that controller in your shop ?

4.) The RR micro FF I checked out did not have an autocal feature (as can bee seen in the video), but I was able to manually calibrate the throw of the lens. Is the autocal feature working in current versions of this product ?

Thanks !

- M

Hey Mike,

We'll get you all cleared up well before midnight:thumbup1: Here we go!

The 19mm clamp changeover is a recent modification. I can assure you if you order the microRemote, it will come with a 19mm Clamp and 15mm reducer ring, making it universal.

In your original post I thought you were referring to switching the side that the pitched drive gear is on on the motor itself, but yes you is correct. With the amount of torque delivered by the motor, a quick release rail clamp would not be viable. You can order additional motor rail clamps, it would just be a special order, but orders@redrockmicro should be able to add it to your current order most likely.

That controller is still in development and unfortunately not available yet.

4.) The RR micro FF I checked out did not have an autocal feature (as can bee seen in the video), but I was able to manually calibrate the throw of the lens. Is the autocal feature working in current versions of this product ?

Hm not sure exactly what you're referring to. All microRemote basestations have an "auto" button that initiates the auto-calibration, that's been included since day one. Maybe you're reffering to using a lens without built in hardstops like a Canon L Series?

Just got my order in for all the goodies, with 4 min to spare till midnight... then I saw it extended to sunday. - Glad I did it now.

Thanks for putting this group order together for all of us.

Now if I can just learn how to focus better... ;)

What's the easiest way to attach the basestation to an Epic/Scarlet?

Use the redrock micro spud

Since the Buy is still open, several group buyers might want to add one or more of these http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/microClamps/microMount to your order.

Also, don't forget that the Run/Stop adapter can be added as well, AFTER you have your group Buy order number is available (minutes after finishing the order online). Imagine your camera on a 50 foot jib, etc.. Andrew Lee, who is one of the RRM staff, has been as invaluable as Carey, and can add to or adjust your order, to taste.

Thank you very much

Fury

Yep that is looking like the best option.

I already added a couple of these when I ordered as well as 2 extra spuds and a couple 3" arms :)

I ordered a 3 pack of the micromount/spud pack. They'll come in handy for a number of things... and the discount makes adding bits that little bit simpler :)

We have officially reached our target of over 50 orders for the microRemote.

The discount is locked in.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your purchase and for helping me to successfully execute another Reduser group buy!

Enjoy your new microRemote!

Oh and if you haven't paid your deposit yet, you still have until Sunday, 5/12 at Midnight.

Thanks again!

Thanks for putting this one together Carey

What's the next group buy?!?

You can't rest... it's against the rules - LOL.
