  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW GROUP BUY: MICROREMOTE WIRELESS FOLLOW FOCUS

Might be that the 1st 50 would rather wait for a greater discount, if, say 100 or 150 is hit, which seems possible. In any case, with this response, RRM should be running production lines on OT...

One thing is for sure, those subscribed know the existing timeline and would not likely be averse to additional discount, keeping the timeline as is. If an additional discount is not forthcoming, Time Is Of The Essence...

Thank you very much

What? Your name is Nick Fury?

I just missed out on this group buy, but have purchased the unit and will be using it and the liang steadicam on a feature (pre prod shooting starts today!)...So excited!!

Just some small questions.

Do we know if the remote can be used with the Meizer (even though the remote is only one channel) if we ever get our hands on one? Can the Micro System be used with the Red motors? I was looking at picking those up as well in the future.

8 to go!!

Carey any idea if the will let us order once we reach 50?

thanks again dude!

like the new profile pic ;-)

Only thing holding me back is the frequency range and legality in the UK. Been looking around but can't find much info. Hopefully Loren can help :)

Aren't you buying one, Carey? (You're not on the list yet :-)

Might I recommend collecting way more than 50 names? You know how fickle film people are.

I am most certainly buying one for myself Brent. I will be the last name added to the list. I will also be collecting as many names as possible... though I do feel that this is a very solid group of names.

The handle controls for ENG are used for huge studio pedestal setups not for hand held.

I certainly don't agree on that one. I must be horribly blind when I see the local news guys using all these LANC focus/zoom controllers clamped onto their shoulder rigs for remotes.

There are the handle style for studio setup, perhaps I should have stated EFP rather. Maybe my bad.

Whatever the case, the Redrock Fingerwheel is targeted towards that style of mobile shooting and there's certainly many possibilities out there to be explored.

I LOVE the idea of using the finger wheel on the zoom and using my normal follow focus still for run and gun, that could potentially rock!!

zoom and finger wheel wont be any good unless its a rocker spring pot and it works as sensitive as a zoom
your zooms will be very bad with just a ff style wheel and not smooth, so unless you wanna go whip zooms its not the best way

I wouldn't spend the money on this to use it as a zoom alternative. Not what it's made for.

Yes if you want to compete with $100 LANC controllers I agree. The complexity of the setup is quite different.
I talk to TV station engineers quite a bit about the transition (to large chip cameras) these days and I got a completely different impression..
Just to clarify- I think he MRFF is a very good value. With this GB even more so....I would jump on it if I were on the market for remote FF.
The finger wheel however... to each their own I guess...
