  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

With the success of the Dragon-X kit that we introduced a few months ago, many customers have asked for a similar kit for the DSMC2 Gemini camera.

So we put together everything you need to start shooting ( minus lens of course ) into one awesome little package. You will save about 7% off the total price of buying all these bits separately.

The new kit is available today and can be purchased on RED.com or RED Authorized Dealers

But seriously, it can get confusing so it does make sense to package this way for newbies to the Red Universe.
 
Fun fact. The strap that's compatible with those Nanuk cases is the one I use for my current "belly cam" setup w/ 1/4"-20 eyebolts. It's comfy.
 
Definitely a great deal.
For me, I ‘d build my own kit with the Production Module and PL. I think it Just hit home as to what a great value these cameras are. Nothing else touches this performance and these features in the price range. And the aesthetic coming from these is in a league of its own.

Was hesitant about chiming in on this, but I think the kit could be improved if it was this:

Heh heh, it doesn't work that way for the kit.. kit ( and more specifically the discount with the kit ) only works if you don't change things. Of course you can order things as you want ala cart.. but the discount only happens because we can order the same thing in higher volumes.

Definitely makes sense. Really awesome that you guys offer these kits at all.

A semi-related question. Those Nanuk cases are EXTREMELY nice. My Gemini brain was shipped in one since I had ordered one pretty early on in the process, but it wasn't really intended to be used with Gemini. If we were to contact Nanuk to make us a custom cut case to fit our specific needs, is there anyway Red could provide them the necessary low detail CAD models or 2D CAD to cut the case? Or is that something they might already have access to since they are your partners? I would love to get a new foam insert cut to fit my specific setup. If not that is fully understandable but a man can dream.
 
Hi Matt,

The EPIC-X upgrade to DSMC2 GEMINI, HELIUM, or MONSTRO is still active; however, trade-ins are not eligible toward the GEMINI Kit. With that being said, if you are interested in upgrading, you may want to contact a local dealer and see what you can work out. Let me know if you need an introduction.
 
Howdy, where did this kit disappear to? I do not see it as offered any longer. Only the Dragon-x one. Thanks.
